May CupboardScape

Is a strong one indeed!

An early doll that I have had my eye on for awhile now.
Bob knew the vendor from the store I visited near work...
he traded a sign to the dealer for me to get this gal.
Bob you are the

1800's Toiletry Counting Pins.
These would be used in a ladies vanity for sewing.
~ I use them to mark my cross stitching ~

I also shopped our own store and purchased
another pair of children's shoes from one of our dealers.

Added my tin punched light for this display.

Also tucked in my umbrella.

I wanted this CupboardScape
to feature mom.
The chair my doll is sitting
was mine as a child.
My mom gifted it back to me.
~ mother and daughter shoes ~

I fell in love with this metal heart.
Looks can be deceiving as it is really heavy.

A Mom's heart is always giving.

I included some ivy
as it was thought to be the plant
of fertility.

Having this new doll reminds me of my own
mom's dolls she has.
I was drawn to this one because of her
beautiful blue eyes.
The color of my own eyes.
~ I have always been an eclectic prim collector ~

May is the month of flowers...
so hopefully we can put the real umbrellas away,
and start planting the real flowers outside
for the season.
~ more rain this week ~

Thank you for all of the well wishes
for our Grand Opening of our Candy Jar.
It was a grand success and fun was had by all!

The grands enjoyed spending grammas money too!
I gave them each $5.00 to spend...
it would not have been fair if they got it for free...
Mikayla helped Bob bag the free popcorn we provided.
Mikey showed folks where the free soda pop was.

Did you have a nice weekend?

I cannot believe it is Monday already.
I taped the Royal Wedding and watched it yesterday morning.
Duchess Meghan was beautiful in her dress!
It was nice seeing Harry say thank you to his pa.
That was so sweet!
Did anyone else watch the wedding?

May Cu[boardScape Blessings To All!

  1. Your new doll is beautiful and a wonderful gift from Bob! She looks so perfect with your other items for a Mother's Day cupboard set-up. I love the dolls face and her darling print dress too!

Congratulations on your grand Opening of the candy store!! I am delighted to hear that it all went so well. I know visitors to your store are going to enjoy this little spot for old fashion treats and little gifts to go.

I got up at 5am and watched the Royal Wedding and it was spectacular!! Keeping up with the Brits has been an interest of mine since Diana's wedding to Charles. It makes me happy to know that Harry has now embarked on a new chapter of his life. I wish all the family many happy years ahead!!

    1. Thanks a bunch Winnie! When I first saw her i loved her...then I started thinking that sometimes ghosts attach themselves to dolls...then Bob saw her and decided to make the trade for her. He said she did not look scary to him. LOL I also watched Diana's wedding too and Prince William's I love history. Even watch Victoria on our local PBS channel. Janice

  2. Janice, you have such a talent in putting things together, how did you acquire this? From having a store I imagine. Someday I am coming to your place to buy candy and more.

    1. I believe I got my talent from my dad. He could draw and put things together too. I have always loved to decorate. Should have become a designer. Our store is open 7 days 11 to 6 except holidays. I am not usually there since I work full time, but hope you can make it some day. Janice

  3. Love your display - so meaningful. The doll is really special - what a thoughtful husband.

    1. Thank you Charlotte! Bob is a keeper for sure! Janice

  6. Thank you Krishna! I do have the eye for this. I guess I missed my calling and should have been a designer. :-) Janice
