Where is Heather

Sorry dear friends,
I have been so busy pricing and choosing what goodies to pack for our show,
that I forgot to post this earlier.
Where is Heather Wise?

Heather, you were the winner of my giveaway and I wanted
to get this in the mail to you before Easter.
Well that's not gonna happen now...

If anyone can reach out to Heather for me and let her know she won,
I would greatly appreciate it!

If I do not hear from Heather
by April 4th, then I will draw another winner.

Tomorrow morning Bob and I leave to set up for our show.
Wish us luck please and I will definitely take pics!

Why Did I Ask

Snowy morning once again.
Good morning friends.

I was home alone with the kitties,
and wanted to ask Ace his opinion on my new bunnies.

He was sleeping,
but thought he would like them anyway.

The first was one of a few I made
for the Breckenridge Show.

Prim Bunny holding a Red Tulip.
His scarf is from an old tick cut up coverlet.
He rolled over and just looked at me.
So then I showed him my paper candy container bunny.
He yawned at me...
Guess he was not impressed.
Now I have to ask your opinion.

Would You Still Love Me?

Good morning sweet sweet friends!
The calendar says Spring
but outside the weather
is not making me think it is.
UGH..when will the warmer weather come?

At least the freighters are back in the river
and we saw one go by this morning.

So on to today's post.
I need to ask you all a few questions.

Would you still love me if I was old?

Would you still love me if I was blue?

Would you still love me if I was cracked up?

Would you still love me if I was mishandled?

On a recent buying trip that Bob and Janice went on.
The owner was just going to throw me away.

Bob and Janice decided that
even though I was old, blue, been mishandled and cracked up.

They will still love me anyway!
They will proudly display me and not throw me out.

Would you do the same?

Spring Centerpiece

Good evening my dear friends.
Been silent for a few days.
Our household has been sick, including me.
Everyone has gotten the bug except for Bob.
He was teasing us all that he was going to rent a
hotel room for the rest of the week to stay away from us all. LOL

So this is one of my Spring centerpieces that will sit
on a table for our upcoming show.
Something simple that I wanted to share with you.

Take a wire crate.
This is a vintage shopping basket,
but you can use a wire milk crate,
or anything that is wire.

Add some Blue Ball jars.

Finally some forsythia sprigs
and you have an easy peasy
Spring Centerpiece.

The centerpiece is on our new farm table in our kitchen.
Yes, we finally found one...
but I forgot to take a picture of it.
Will have to show you in another post.

French Blue At Heart

Good morning sweet friends!
Spring is coming...at least on the calendar.
For those of you who have recently begun to follow me,
My paternal great grandparents not only came from France
but were also first cousins.
Rosemary and Matthew started their romance in France.
Now even though marrying cousins was not unheard of in Europe at the time,
her parents did not want this union for their daughter.
So they whisked her off on an ocean liner to Canada
to make a new life.
Little did they know that she told Matthew
 where they were going...
and he headed to Canada on the next boat.
The year was 1873.
Rosemary and Matthew Husson
married a year later,
moved over to Port Sanilac Michigan and raised
their nine children on a 1000 acre farm.
When their four boys were ready to move on,
they divided there farm into 250 acre parcels,
William, Frank and Charles (my grampa)
each then started their own farms.
The original homestead of 250 acres
was to go to the eldest boy Albert,
however he chose not to become a farmer.
The homestead then went to their unmarried daughter Barbara.
Now the other daughters were given dowries and not land.

That sounds like a lot of land to afford,
but back then there was no property tax.
My grampa Charlie and Aunt Barbara were the youngest of the clan.
When my Aunt passed, she willed the homestead and land to my grandpa.
When grandpa H passed, my gramma sold the old homestead.
So being part French,
I have a soft spot for French Blue enamelware,
and anything else in the french blue color.
