Penny For Your Thoughts

HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY
my sweet blogging buddies!
I am so looking forward to this weekend.
I had a few bad days this week.
Yesterday and Wednesday.
Everything and I mean everything went wrong at work on Wed.
I love my job..but so glad that day is over with....just lots of problems.
Plus idiot drivers.
Some guy driving behind me it seemed did not want to be behind me,
even though I was going 5 miles over the speed limit.
He had to pass me up...
and as soon as he passed me up,
he put on his brakes in front of me and made a right hand turn
onto a street..really???
Guess he could not wait 3 more seconds and turn in back of me.
Then I had a gal pull out in front of me and I had to brake hard.
Guess my red car is not visible enough. LOL

Then yesterday I had a client call on the island near us.
We have to pay a fee to get on the ferry.
After my call, I realized I had left my purse back at the clients...
and of course I was on the ferry going back when I remembered.
Had to turn around and get back on again.
The only consolation was it was a gorgeous day and the water was so blue!

Here's hoping today and the weekend will be better.

I started working on my penny rug again.
Remember I have to make 116 pennies....
What was I thinking? LOL

All wool pennies.

47 of these woolie pennies sewn on my brown wool.
Can you see the start of the design?
For those new to my blog,
I saw an antique penny rug for sale with a $425 price tag.
Evn though I am an antique dealer...I could not see myself purchasing
the real thing as it was not in very good shape...
so I drew out the pattern..and am making one myself.
Now only 69 more to go.
What was I thinking?
What are you thinking?
Penny for your thoughts.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Bedroom Progress A Finally Happening

Good morning sweet dear blogging buddies.
Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend.
Mine was spent working the store and bedroom shopping.
Bob  is back to normal, so the bedroom redux is back in full swing.
He completed the window trim...

Redid it all and a fresh coat of paint afterwards.

I like how he extended the top and bottom
by adding a small strip of wood.
Gives it a bit of character, don't you think?

He added the small door and painted that as well.
Now he has to scrape and sand down the trim over the two doors
and paint all of the door trims.
We went last night to Lowe's and ordered the wood floor.
Bob has to pick it up in a week,
so this gives him time to finish up the trim.

With that said, I better get my butt moving on my penny rug
wall hanging...and the curtains.

Hump Day Blessings To All!
Don't you just love that camel commercial. LOL

A Bit Of This And That

Good evening sweet friends.
I want to wish everyone a very
Happy and Safe Memorial Day weekend.

We (Bob) is having a huge clean out our garage
antique sale this weekend.
Actually started yesterday.
I cannot believe the stuff out on our lawn.
How did Bob even get it all in our 2 1/2 car garage.

I will be busy working the store with my son tomorrow,
and shopping for fabric for my bedroom curtains on Sunday along
with shrubs for our new landscape plan in our front yard.

Below is a few bits of this and that around our homestead.
What do you think?

This was a cross stitch pattern I did from Primitive Betty.

I purchased this Alphabet pillow last year at the Breckenridge show.

This black folk doll was purchased from a dear friend.
Dawn from Holly Hills Primitives.

I made these prim pears to fit in my wood box.
The clock is an early one.

A few of my glass coffee jars.

Hope you enjoyed by little bit of this and that.
What are your plans for the weekend?

Halloween Sneaky Peek

Good evening sweet friends.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
I had the grands over.
We made Funfetti cookies
(sugar cookies with colored sprinkles)
Then made them into an ice cream sandwich cookie.
They were yummy I must admit.

We had a wonderful time...
ate out breakfast lunch and dinner one day.
They thought it was so fun!
Then I made breakfast lunch and dinner the other night for them.

We snuggled together on the couch and watched the Ghostbuster movies and Despicable Me.
They got to play with their old friends here that they miss.
For those that did not know..my daughter and grands lived with us for almost
2 years after her divorce.

I have been working on Halloween when I can.
This is the finished pillow.
The pumpkin is made from wool.
The stem is some striped flannel I had,
and the cat is black fabric with a woolie nose.
I hand stitched all of this from a vintage feedsack bag
I cut up that had many holes in it.

Filled these piillows with scraps of fabric.
I love the lumpy feel it gives...so very prim.

The back is a brown calico print.
A bit darker than this pic shows.
I have 5 completed and 5 more to go.
Bob and I will be doing the
Harvest At The Mill show this September in Holly, Michigan.
Looking forward to seeing some sweet friends again!

A Day Of Celebration

Good morning sweet dear blogging buddies.
Last night our cable and internet went out.
Even though I love my primitives,
not so sure I would like living it.
So appreciate the things we have today.
Makes me realize what our fore fathers and mothers
had to endure back then.

Last Saturday we celebrated my cutie pie's
7th birthday.
She wanted a Frozen cake
I have not yet seen the movie,
so I had no clue what this was until I was told.

Here is my lil granddaughter...
growing up fast.

Her party was at Chuck E Cheese.

There is Chuck E himself.
The mouse in the midlle.

My mom did not want us to do anything for her on Mothers Day,
so Bob and I are taking her to the Greenfield Village museaum next month.
Pictured here is my mom and sister Teresa.
My mom will be 80 years young this September
and I do not think she looks it.

May CupboardScape

Good evening sweet blogging buddies!
Hope all you moms had a great day yesterday.
I spent my day just being lazy at home.
We celebrated on Saturday.

I realized this morning that I did not post my
May CupboardScape.
I told you I have been scatter brained. LOL

This month is a simple one.
All about the May flowers.

Added some faux yellow forsythias on the left
some sticks in the middle
and pink apple blossoms on the right.

The ovoid blue slip crock on the left is a new purchase.
One of our vendors is downsizing her collection
and this was for sale in our store.
She was glad I purchased it, as she knew it would go to a good home.
What do you think?

This next pic is our flowering pear tree.
This is the one we had planted last year.
I need to clean this bed soon.
Severe weather was all around us today...
fortunately all we had was thunderstorms...
but a few of our counties had tornado warnings.
This time of the year now for these nasty storms.

Randomness

Is that even a word?
Good morning dear friends.
I have been so scatter brained lately.
I have been working on my Halloween projects,
then my mind goes to Christmas...
yeah you heard me right....
but why would I be wishing for Christmas already again?
I think it is because I did some Spring cleaning
around the house and moved furniture everywhere...
which gave me a great idea to put my tree at....
Again I ask..why are you thinking about Christmas?
My only excuse is scatter brained. LOL

Below are two pics of my re-arrange.
Again scatter brained me did not download
all of my pics...
so they will have to be another post(s)

One of my early horses.
I traded a cabinet to get this one.

I do not smoke,
but I love to collect tobacco tins...
they just have some awesome graphics and colors.
These are my smaller ones.
I have a whole wall shelf of larger ones.

Busy weekend coming up.
Mikayla's (granddaughter) birthday party is Saturday..
and of course Mother's Day is on Sunday.
Want to wish all of you Moms out there a
Happy Mother's Day!

You Are Working On What

Good morning sweet friends.
Saturday Bob and I were invited to a Kentuky Derby party.
It was fun spending time with friends
and feasting on good food.
Salmon spread and spinach dip for appetizers.
Followed by brown derby sandwiches.
Main course of boubon salmon, chicken fingers,
fried green tomatoes, potato salad and tossed salad.
Dessert was pecan chocolate bars and bourbon balls.
Did I say there was a full bar too!

Yesterday I spent half the day Spring cleaning
and re-arranging things in the homestead.

The second half of the day was spent
creating
HALLOWEEN
Yes, I am working on
some
trickery!

My latest sketch.
Now this is not an original my me.
I was going through some late 1970 magazines
and came across a picture that I liked.
This is based on that pic.
Unfortunately I cannot give credit where credit is due.

Using an old linen feedsack I had.
It had several holes,
but I do not mind for this project.

The start...the black woolie kitty.

My Office View

Good morning sweet friends.
Yesterday was a crazy ride home as I drove right into a storm
with pea sized hail.
Thought my windshield was going to crack.
So glad I drove through it unscathed.

I happened to have my camera with me at work last week,
so I decided to let you all see my daily view.
I work on the 4th floor with a view of two rivers.

In the foreground is the Black River.
A good name don't you think?
In the background is the blue St Clair River.
The same beautiful river by my house.

A closer view of this big blue river.
Across the river is Sarnia Ontario Canada.
The freighters travel this river to Lake Huron.
None passed by so I could take a pic that day,
but I see them daily now.

Finally the view of these gorgeous flowers that
two fellow co-workers bought me for
Administrative Assistant's Day.
Even though I am an AVP and am a commercial loan officer
and not an assistant,
I was very appreciative to these guys
who took the time to send me these gorgeous flowers.
We work as a team together and I feel we have one of the best teams in Michigan.
When I moved to this location along the two rivers,
I left a different team and we became a new team.
After three years we have melded together very good
and we compliment one another.
I really DO love my job!
Guess I must as I have been with the same bank for 18 years now.
I worked for another bank 19 years before being laid off,
so banking is in my blood now...never worked as a teller though.

Now I also love my second job working our antique store on Saturdays.
I love talking to our customers..both old and new.
I love re-arranging goodies and going on picks...
just like the pickers. LOL It is so much fun.

Well this is the view from my office.
Now you get to see what I do.
I would love to know if you love your office view
and what your job is.
It is nice to learn more about my blogging buddies.

Picture Perfect Blessings To All!
