In Between Months

Good evening sweet friends.
Well today is leap day.
Do you ever feel like me,
when leap year comes around.
Are we leaping out of February,
or leaping into March?
It's that day in between months for me.

With March officially starting tomorrow..
instead of today...
I wanted to let everyone know...

that March is reading month.

I have to confess that I have started another collection.

Early books this time.
I just love the way they look and the feel of those
early leather ones.
Maybe its time to start reading the ones I have.
After all it is...er will be National Reading month.

Randomness

Not even sure if that is a word or not.

Good evening sweet friends.

Well the ice is back in the river...

which means the eagles are back.

WOOHOO.

We love our bald eagles here...

wish they would sit still long enough to get a pic.

I am sitting at the store with a customer perusing goodies,

so I thought I would grab some old photos and just post

some randomness.

Enjoy!

A few years back I decided to do this outside display

in front of our store.

Not primitive,

but I thought it might be a car stopper.

My theory worked,

and I was a busy little beaver that day.

Do you ever get into that randomness mood?

Maybe its cabin fever...

Spring is around the corner.

Valentine Mantel

Good morning sweet friends!

Happy Valentine's Day weekend to you all.

I almost forgot to show you my mantel for this season of love.

I took a vintage frame, added some twine 

and then added these sweet valentine tags.

These adorable tags were courtesy of

Old Dame Penniwig has the most adorable free graphics

for pretty near every occasion if not all.

So please go over and visit her.

You will not be disappointed!

I made this true love pillow last year.

No pattern, just a free hand thing I did.

Then I have these hooked hearts....

I so want to learn how to do this.

If any of my Michigan friends know of any hook ins,

that are close to the East side, please let me know.

Teddies worn and much loved.

My newest pewter pitcher

all decked out in Valentine cheer.

Then there is my galvanized one.

For those of you in this wicked cold spell,

stay safe and warm.

It was zero degrees here this morning,

with a windchill of 6 below.

BRRR.

Bob and I bundled up the kiddos and took them for breakfast.

Seeing Both Red And White

Good evening sweet friends!
Thank you all who commented on my
February CupboardScape post.
I really do enjoying hearing from you!!!
I love to decorate both for our store
and at home.
I started college as an Art Major.
Was not sure if I wanted to be an artist,
designer or Art teacher.
Well I chose none of the above
and got a drgree in Business Management
and became a commercial loan office.
Not what you expected to hear...right?

Around my house now,
there are bits of red.

Unfortunately this cross stitch project will not
be completed in time for Valentine's...
maybe next year.

Along with the red,
we have the white snow falling.

Our old wagon out front.

A wooden goose I forgot to take inside.
Suppose to get 6 inches.
Will be stayng in the rest of the evening.

February CupboardScape

Good evening sweet friends
and happy weekend!

With Valentine's just around the corner
and love in the air,
my February CupboardScape
would naturally feature this holiday.

I chose various love themed items,
with some red, white and pink mixed in.

Like this vintage piece of redwork embroidery.
Gramma B taught me how to embroider, 
and she started me with redwork.
I bought this piece as it remined me of that.

I use faux flowers to decorate with 
so my kitties won't eat them.
Candles remind me of love and warmth,
so I placed my make do candle in here as well.

Tucked in this 
BE MY VALENTINE
pillow in one of my fav old boxes.

Again this heart was stitched in red,
which reminded me of redwork.

Added this vintage floral picture in back.

Placed a piece of linsey woolsey inside.

To complete this suitcase display.

With Valentine's Day just around the coerner,
do you have any plans to celebrate?

Bob and I will be taking the grands to Frankenmuth
for a good ole fashion chicken dinner.

Seeing Bits Of Red

Good evening sweet friends.
I cannot beleive it is already February.
Well since Valentines Day is around the corner...

Bits of red are appearing before your eyes. :-)

My woolie penny heart found its way on the chair
near our front door.
