November CupboardScape

Hello friends!
November is here now.
Temps are getting much colder.
Changed the clocks...which I am not fond of.
Where my mom lives is getting snow today.
Just an hour North of us.

This month's CupboardScape
is a mish mash
of all that reminds me
of my gramma B's farm this time of year.

Nuts, pumpkins, and corn.

Wild turkeys in the fields.

The wild grasses turning colors.

I so love the colors this time of year.

The turkeys are very smart.
They are fast and can actually fly.

They roost up in the trees.

Ben Franklin actually wanted the turkey
to be our National Bird,
as he thought this bird to be more courageous
than the eagle.

I do know that if they are in the road,
they expect you to wait for them.

In other news,
I almost have the four turkeys done.
They are painted, and I just need to finish
them up and they will be ready for sale.

Am hoping to finish on Sunday as
Saturday I will be doing a show in
my mom's town.

I know Winnie loves November,
with the temps cooler in Florida.
Does anyone else love this month?
Is anyone ready for the snow where you live?

Turkey Blessings To All!
Janice

  3. Hi Janice,
Your display is just beautiful and makes me realize that I have so few things for display for Thanksgiving, even though I LOVE IT!! I must try to remedy that for next year!! I guess I have sold all of my creations and kept none for myself!! I, like Winnie, LOVE November because our temps are so nice here in AZ after our LONG HOT SUMMER!!
Take care and have a great week, my friend!

    1. That’s all the Thanksgiving I have. We had snowed this morning, so had to drive into work in the dark in it. Not fun. Janice

  4. I do love the colors in your cupboardscape. We have wild turkeys here (also tame ones), so I am familiar with their ways. I don't know if they are more courageous, though. :~)

  5. Your autumn scape is beautiful. We are getting our first snow on Friday and I have an appointment to get my new ice tires put on tomorrow. The dealer said that November is their busiest month. I'm not ready for the cold and snow. Hun Bug.

  7. Your cupboardscape is beautiful. Love the almost monochromatic tones.
The only thing good about November (besides my son coming home for Thanksgiving - yippee) is that it is one month closer to spring :)

  8. So pretty! Yes I love November. I call it my quiet month before the hustle and craziness that can be December. We're suppose to get the white stuff on Thursday but I'm going to mow the grass for the last time tomorrow. My family in Chicago have already had about 4in of snow and the kiddos trick or treated in Winter coats and down snow covered sidewalks. Am I ready? Well....I guess!

  10. Your new November cupboard space is so nice and simple. It reminds me a bit of what one can find down here in Florida. We grow cotton , corn, pecans, hickory nuts, and this time of year the wild turkeys are everywhere.
It is hard to imagine snow right now, but I wouldn't mind trying!!! LOL!!!

We are back to more days of warm and humid, but it is supposed to cool back down on Saturday. We shall see. One interesting part of November so far for us has been the arrival of a few of our winter only wild birds. They are delighted in the warmer days!! It is always a matter of perspective, isn't it?? Also, our Hummingbirds have finally left of their journey and the last of the Monarchs are fluttering about as well. We can see the season change, not on temperatures, but on the patterns of birds and butterflies. Happily, my Crow family has almost moved in permanently to the backyard. They love it here with a supply of fresh water, deer corn scattered in the yard, and peanuts in the shell, if they ask nicely!! Baby Crowling is still the smallest and has to request me to feed him after the others leave. He has even peered into my kitchen window to see if I will come out!! They are the smartest birds and so much fun to observe.

    1. Well I had to drive in the snow and dark this morning and it was not fun. Mind you the deer are running so I have to be careful of them too. How fun to have a lil crow! Plus to have him looking in on you for food. I think our crows have left. Janice

  11. I love the natural colors you used here. It's quite lovely. November is always a hugely busy month for me and I always kind of dread it. But it's what we do.

    1. Well when the November snows come it is only nice if I am home with a nice fire and not driving into work in it in the dark. Makes me go UGH. But we have to take the good with the bad din’t We. Janice
