whippy Wednesday

Good morning, afternoon or evening my friends.
Hope your week is going good thus far.
Thank you for coming over to my blog today.
I so appreciate you.

When last I showed Potted Plant
only the border was hooked.

Plus a little bit of the bottom corner.

Now I have all of the bottom and vase hooked.

The wool for the vase is an antique rose
and cream pattern,
But it looks pinkish here to me.
The center of the flower in the vase
is a tan color.

I have not planned out the colors for this.
Just choosing colors as I go.

Next up is Turkey Trot.

Last update the house was completed.
Along with some acorns.

I now have the motif and one turkey stitched.

Just loving their wonky tail feathers.
These make me smile.

Last but not least by no means.
Block 10 of
Halloween At Hawk Run Hollow
is completed.
YAY!!
Am not a fan of this one as you can see.
Not a Halloween block to me.
Unless you call the swamp Halloween.
Just glad this one is over.

Blocks 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 10.

Blocks 3, 4. 7 and 8.

10 completed now and only 2 more to go.
At least the final two scream Halloween,
so I will enjoy stitching on them.

In other news,
my morning drives to work have been
dark and foggy at times now.
The days are getting shorter and I am
getting the urge to start decorating for Fall.

Thank you to those who commented about
our sweet Shadow kitty and also mentioning
your own pets...it meant a lot.
The other night I swore I heard a meow.
Clear as day.
Maybe we have a ghost kitty now.

Well have to get ready for work.
UGH

Mid Week Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Our Kiki (passed at 18), still roams our halls...I loved her and I swear she sent us our feral Miss Kitty...both black...Miss Kitty is really warming up to us now.
Your stitching is gorgeous!! Makes me want to do a bit of hand embroidery! lol

  2. It's getting darker for my drive in too. I'm not a fan of shorter days.
I love your hooked project. I've never known anyone who does that. Turkey Trot is going to be great!

  3. I know some say no way animals have ghosts. I disagree. We had one cat that went over the bridge at 18. One night while up late waiting for baby DS to want his feeding for the night, I walked into the kitchen and saw a white-ish something streak across the floor from the table to the basement door, just as the cat did every night when it was time to put him in the basement for the night (DH had zero patience for the 2am zoomies). And another cat that went over the bridge at age 10 visited in the wee early morning hours when I saw a black shadow run across the living room floor to under the couch, just as she frequently did. Some will say it was my eyes playing tricks walking into a dark room, but I say otherwise. Not all cats we've had have paid a visit though, at least not that I've caught them at it.

Your Shadow reminds me of a cat I had decades ago while still at Mom & Dad's on the farm. Same fur & eye color, so sweet, not too bright, skinny little thing...until he started catching frogs in the little water hole by a drainage tube under a driveway. He bulked up and got quite solidly muscled (can't credit the hormones as he was neutered). He was proof frogs are not a miracle brain food, at least not for cats.

  4. It is so hard to lose a dear pet - we lost Disco over two years ago and still miss him. So sorry for your loss again.
Gosh you really like to needlepoint. How long does it take to do one block - how many hours do you put in doing needlepoint. I am sorry to say I do not do it - but my mom did. She used to bring it over to the house and when we watched tv she would do her needlepoint.
I like the Halloween ones too. The days are not getting shorter here - and it is still to hot! lol

  5. Good morning, I really enjoy seeing your stitches. I didn't realize you hooked also-love your piece so far. back in the '50s and 60's when i was growing up my Mother did a lot of rug hooking. she dyed all of her reclaimed wools. back then they worked with very tiny widths-she did amazing work-my brother snagged most of her pieces sigh I do have one fall leaf rug and I was able to grab the staircase runner she hooked-I gave that to one my cousins since he had children to pass it down to
    Happy mid week Kathy

  6. Happy to see you have picked up your hook!
Turkey Trot is fun and Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow is just amazing.
You accomplish so much while still working full time. I can't even begin to imagine what you will get done once retired!!!

  7. I like all your pieces that you are working on.
I wish it would be darker here - I just am counting the days before Fall. Of course we are still “summer” till around November but who knows, maybe this year will be different. I’m looking forward to rain, cooler temps, cozy evenings, and baking to heat up the house!

  8. You have been stitching up such a storm that I totally forgot you'd started this hooking project. I couldn't love your Turkey Trot or Hawk Run Hollow Halloween more. I guess I would agree, though, about your last block not being particularly "Halloween-ish." Oh well, it's fun nonetheless. We're due for a rainy, cool, day tomorrow. Wish I could curl up with some stitching or a book but it's not to be. ~Robin~

  9. I just went back to your other post so very sorry about your sweet cat. We had a cat for almost 20 years and when she passed it was more than either of us could take. So no other pets since then. It is too hard to let them go.
you are a stitching and hooking machine! I love the Halloween one. Yes I have noticed the days getting shorter and the leaves starting to turn always makes me sad to say good bye to summer. Hopefully it will be a nice long warm fall.

  10. Hello, oh yes, I can see the change in the light too. When I head out for my morning walks, the bird song is gone, and it is not as bright. Autumn is staring to visit us here too. :-)
All of your projects are AMAZING!!!!

    Love, Carla
