Sunday Starts

I wanted to start another sampler.
The other one is so slow to stitch.
I think this will be a faster one...
but will continue to work on the other one.
I plan on this one being a tribute
to my grandmothers.
I will change this a bit to and it will be a surprise.

Was not sure if I was going to like this border.
To me it looks like a Grecian pattern.
Once I started stitching on it
though it is growing on me.

However I already frogged out the letter "A".
These letters are charted to be green and red.
The green to me too much like Christmas.
I did not want a row of Christmas colors.
In fact the second row is also the same.
The picture looks more gray to me,
so I may make row 2 gray and red.
Will see.
Stitching this on 32ct Sand.

My next start is a Halloween one.
Am loving this witch thus far.
Stitching this on 28ct Flapper Cashel purple linen.
A perfect color for Halloween!

In other news, I hope everyone is aware that
if VP Harris gets her way and puts in a price freeze...
then our country will be like the 1970's
all over again when President Nixon tried it.
It forces stores to only stock what they can make
money on and then the other items go away.
Everyone in my opinion should take a class
in Economics to know what I am talking about.

Just like when I knew having the high pay raise
for the Stellanis workers during the strike
was going to result in folks losing their job.
Sure some will reap their higher wage increase,
but now 500 lost their jobs....
with more to come.
Companies need to make money or they go out of
BUSINESS.
Same is true for any business...even our
small antique and gift store.
We have to cover the utilities and taxes.
Nothing is free.
The shipping cost of goods just for our little
gift shop has risen 25%...
therefore we have to raise the price
in order to make money.

Also dont get me started on giving $25,000
to first time homeowners either.
My Economics tells me this will result in
buyers raising their prices on properties
because they know that folks get money.
This will not work either.
Its just a pipe dream.

Economics 101.
Get rid of the green new deal regulations
that are being forced on the auto industry and other manufacturers.
Become energy independent which will lower
the cost of gas,
which will further lower the cost of goods
that need to be transported all over.
This administration has spent way too much money.
They need to curb the spending.
My personal spending has limits...
so should the governments.
Student bailout $150 million.
$224 billion to force auto companied to go EV.
$300 billion in increasing SNAP by 25%.
(sure wish I could get a 25% rise)
They spent $7 billion on only 8 EV charging stations.
How many of those even work?
That's just some of the spending.
Over 300 million people live in the US.
You want to help us all...
then give us the unspent money you are spending.
That would put a lot of money
into our pockets to spend.

I worked hard to get where I am.
Nothing was given to me.

Ok enough of my rant.

Today we are headed to a birthday party
foe a young friend who turns 88 today.
Ron is a magician and I love watching him perform.
We just hope the rain will hold off
as it is an outdoor party.

Sunday Blessings To All!
Janice

I watch the Trump rallys live on right side broadcasting which you an stream on you tube. Thousands of patriots attend that love our country and God. It gives me hope. there are No protests or hateful people attending.
It will be interesting how many not nice people show up at the DNC to start riots etc

  2. Lovely stitching. The Greek key pattern colors are beautiful together.
    You make good points.
Greed and bad decisions are on both sides. The rush to please distracts folks from grasping long term consequences. Integrity, in persons and plans, has to be a focus.

  3. I love your needlepoints. I think the border is pretty. And I am not big into Halloween - but I LOVE the decorations and colors for Halloween

If it the Democrats get in - we have a lot more to worry about thank economics - right?

  5. But remember the bailout, the new home buyer deal, et al, isn't being paid by the government. It will be our tax dollars or pulling it from the social security funds we pay into. Nothing free is right.
    Nice new stitcheries.

  6. Excellent post, Janice!!! People need to do their homework and stop believing everything the mainstream media is feeding them.
The media is so biased. An example for those that don't believe...when Trump said no taxes on tips, he was blasted by the media how much it would cost over the next 10 years. When KH copied DJT and said the same thing, that same media (don't remember exactly which one...NBC?) didn't slam her proposal. Now why is that???
We are going to be in a world of hurt if things don't change this November. People just need to look to Venezuela. It used to be one of the wealthiest countries in the world. And now? Horrible.
I better get off my soapbox now.
    Happy Sunday to you.

  7. That sampler is going to be all kinds of beautiful. I love the design. So many samplers, so little time! Is the Halloween piece Prairie Schooler? I love how they do Halloween. As for your other comments, sadly so true. It's all fun and games with the free stuff, until someone has to pay for it. Welcome to Socialism 101. You're absolutely right - the irresponsible spending has to stop. Hope the weather held out for your party...how fun to know a magician personally. ~Robin~

  8. Your sampler will be nice when it’s done.

I can say as a Californian, Kamala wasn’t well liked. But because so many vote for those with a D after their name they vote regardless of what they stand for. Their idiots! She messed up my city so bad I hardly recognize it. Sure the tourist areas are cleaned up but try living there.
I remember the gas shortages in the 70’s. That will happen to our food supply. I do fear those same idiots and low information voters just might pull it off and place Kamala and her kook running mate into the Oval Office.

God help us if that happens.

  10. Hello, first thank you for sharing your story with me over on my blog. I am sending you a BIG HUG. You are correct, you think about that 'person' even if they are not around. My fear is that he will be released early from prison and be back here. He only got 7 years.
Our system is broken in so many ways... I agree 100 % with your rant.
    God HELP the USA!!!

  11. You seem to know a lot about economics of the micro ( which focuses on individuals, businesses, markets) as well as on the macro( economy that affects the entire nation). Good for you, Janice!
Enjoy the birthday party of the 88 year old magician!
