Hello my friends!
I must confess that I lied about not owning
any green antiques.
I forgot I put this rug away
that was in our hallway.
When I moved things around,
I put it away for safekeeping
because I was not sure
where to re-hang it.
The border is green with a bit of white and yellow.
I have a little drysink at the end
of our hall, so I placed it there now.
Added my prim mirror to the right.
All of my stone fruit in yellow for Autumn.
Other colors underneath.
This black piece is a fruit compote from
the 1700's.
I have a few pieces from this era
and treasure these most.
A wide shot of the end of our hall.
I moved my early checkerboard up a bit.
A simple Autumn look for this area.
Soon we will get our new windows installed,
so I dont want to bring out much Fall decor
until this is complete.
Everything near the windows needs to be moved away.
However I have done a bit.
My moms eye appt shows possible glaucoma,
so her doctor wants her to have a test done.
She goes back in October.
She also has a de-generative eye disease in one eye,
which is why she goes to her eye surgeon
once a year. So far this has not progressed.
It is hereditary, so not sure if us kids will get it too.
We had fun eating out and shopping.
Will look for her visit again next month.
Hope everyone enjoys their holiday weekend.
Any big plans for you?
Tundra and I will be working our gift shop
this long weekend.
Then BBQ and eat outside with no humidity,
We did last night and it was so nice!
Telling The Truth Blessings To All!

It looks so nice. Of course, I like wool hooked rugs too. Our youngest daughter and husband and dogs...ahahha...are coming for a visit Sunday/Monday. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your visit with your daughter and family! Janice
DeleteNice display and of course I love your hooked rug. Did you hook it or is it an antique?
ReplyDeleteThis is an antique rug hooked on burlap. Janice
DeleteIs there a date on this sweet rug. It looks like it's been freshly hooked and not pressed like we see in antique rug. Could it be a reproduction of an antique rug design? Just wondering...
ReplyDeleteYour display looks really nice.
Enjoy the long weekend. It's a long weekend here also. Labour Day.
Hugs, Julia
No date on the rug, but it is an early one hooked on burlap. Janice
DeleteIt looks lovely in that space, Janice. Very pretty. Sending all good wishes to your mother and her eyes and to you for a lovely holiday weekend. I hope the shop is packed!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. Shop was not packed, but we did alright this weekend. Janice
DeletePraying for your mom.
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling the truth. Hee Hee!!!
Enjoy your weekend. Carla
Thanks Carla! Yep glad I got that off my chest. :-) Janice
DeleteSweet little vignette. I LOVE stone fruit. One of my favorite collections!
ReplyDeleteYes I know you love stone fruit. I am still on the lookout for some half ones. So expensive. Janice
DeleteGreat display as always Janice....I'm drooling over your stone fruit collection and that compote. My collection of stone fruit is pathetic at this point. I had a nice collection started and packed it up during WWR and it has not yet resurfaced. So all I have at this point are a few pieces I have picked up since. Happy holiday weekend.... ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteI still wish I had at least one half of a stone fruit. Hard to come by and expensive. I hope you find yours soon. Janice
Deletelovely as always. We are making use of our fire pit it has been pretty chilly. other than that no plans
ReplyDeleteCathy
We actually had a bonfire Friday night until the rain came in. It was nice though as we ate outside again. Tonight more rain coming in as I write this...possibly severe...hope not though. Janice
DeleteHi Janice! Love your stone fruit - you have a beautiful assortment! Ill try to get over your lying spree, lol. Sending prayers for your mom. Happy Labor Day weekend. Jane
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane! Hope you had a nice long weekend. Janice
DeleteFun and cozy nook with the early autumn gathering and beautiful hooked rung. Glad you and your Mom had some fun together and I hope here eye issues improve. Enjoy your humidity free weather! See if you can get some to push on down here because we sure could use some!
ReplyDeleteAm hoping the tests are negative for my mom. I dont want to say this but we did eat outside again and even had a bonfire until the rain chased us inside on Friday night. It was nice though while it lasted. Humid today with severe weather coming in as I type this. UGH Janice
DeleteI love your stone fruit and compote. I would treasure it dearly. The rug is really not so very green so you are okay I think. :~) I do like it though...
ReplyDeleteLOL on the green rug. It is green. I think the pics made it look not so much. Oh well. I do love it and it will proudly hang at the end of our hall now. Am on the hunt for at least one half piece of stone fuit. They are so hard to come by and expensive. Janice
DeleteVery nice nook decorated for Fall. It feels a bit like Fall with cool temps and low humidity! Love it! BBQ tomorrow with family so that should give me some blog worthy moments! Enjoy your weekend and don't work too hard!
ReplyDeleteWell my living room is decorated for Fall. Not sure if and when I will be able to do anymore. They postponed our window install. UGH Hope you had a nice BBQ! Janice
DeleteWhat a beautiful compote!! I have never seen stone fruit, though have heard Lauren reference it. Not something that you see in antique shops and markets in the South. It looks interesting. Know you will be glad to have your windows in BBC and your home back to normal.
ReplyDeleteAm not sure where antique stone fruit became a thing in the USA as the antique ones were made in Italy. Maybe I need to research that some day and do a post on it. Janice
