Its A Prelude

To A Pumpkin Crow Story.

Happy Hump Day Friends!
Hope this week is going good for you.
Yesterday I took the day off
to go shrub shopping with my daughter.
I came home with a lime light hydrangea.
She purchased a Miss Molly butterfly bush,
which is a magenta colored one.

Today I wanted to show you
the prelude to our crow
taking his pumpkin.
This is the first pillow I made.

Our crow friend as he was approaching
his great find.

This is how he found the jackpot
This enormous pumpkin was already
loaded up in the cart.

With others much smaller around it.

Here he is landing on the pumpkin.
This where he contemplated
what to pumpkin was one
of his favorite foods.
Of course we all know he
flew to the ground,
put the hitch under his wing...
and off he went with his prize.

This newest pillow needs
to be rag stuffed and will complete.
Just need more rags.

BTW friends my sewing machine
seized up during covid,
so I have been hand sewing all of my goodies.

Hope everyone has a crow-tiffic day!

Prelude Blessings To All!

  1. Sweet applique and turned out very nice.

  2. Hi Janice,
Love your little story and such a sweet pillow!! I have definitely been dreaming about fall lately, especially as the thermometer keeps climbing to the triple digits!!! Sorry about your machine and hope you can get it back up and running again!!
    Enjoy your week!

  3. Now that's what I am talking about!! I love the little crow and pumpkins.. it is super adorable!!

  4. I love your pumpkin crow! And even though it's pushing 90 today, I feel a little Octobery already!

  5. Such a cute crow great story to go with it.

  6. Wonderful hand sewing! I'd be getting my machine fixed tout de suite :)

  7. Janice, you are very ambitious to sew all that pretty by hand. I sure do love them. Thanks for showing the old crow..Stay well..xxoJudy

  8. Strange coincidence, my sewing machine seized up also during Covid-19. I was trying to remove one of the little screw so I could take the plate out to try to fix the problem but with my arthritic hands, I wasn't able to and had to sew by hand too for mending only. Your crow and pumpkin will be someone's delight.

  9. This is sweet ...I have 2 lime light hydrangea's & they are beautiful ! One is enormous , about 10feet tall ! They are covered with flowers late summer !!!

  10. It looks wonderful!! I love the colors. 😊 Take care, Kit

  11. Well, I am sure you have no doubt how I adore this little pillow.... I'm a crow lovin' pumpkin hoarder from way back LOL. And your lil' crow fella has such personality!! Lime green hydrangea sounds beauteous....I love, love, love hydrangeas and lime green....match made in heaven...kinda like crows and pmpkins. ;-) ~Robin~

  12. Nice. I never have used rags to stuff - couldn't get more authentic tho.
