Bunny Beginnings

Happy Tuesday my friends!
Hope each of you enjoyed the long weekend.

Each morning I worked on my
flower gardens,
Weeding and planting.
Still not finished,
but its a start.

I worked our gift shop both Friday and Saturday.
Sunday I finished my bunny rug.

I took some stained muslin and hooked
in the ditch for the eye.
Looking at the wild bunnies in our yard,
their eyes are white all around.

I bound it in the same brown wool
I used for my hit and miss squares.

It measures 16" high
by 11"inches across.
I  needed it to be this size to fit here
next to my kitchen cabinet.

Any bigger and it would have been lost
behind the cabinet.

I drew this design many months ago,
and finally it is completed.

It is now in its forever place.

Since finishing this on Sunday,
Monday left me to work on Halloween.
Oh the creative juices have been
flowing with many designs drawn out
for this spooky season.

Will continue to show you what
I have been up to as I finish items.

What did you do over the long
Holiday weekend?

Bunny Beginning Blessings To All!

  4. Your bunny rug looks so good with your old primitive pieces. It really does "complete that corner," as Julia said.

  7. Wonderful bunny rug! I have a few bunnies in my yard but they better leave before they find my garden or the outcome might not be too good for them! We finished planting our garden over the weekend and did lots of yard work. We're having a party in a few weeks for my Grandson's graduation so I want the place to look good! Enjoy the rest of your busy week!

    1. I planted my leaf lettuce up high so they cannot get it. Our beets and carrots will have a fence around it. Dont want them eating our veggies either. Janice

  8. I really love this little bunny rug of yours Janice!! And its "forever home" is perfect....great choice on size. Love that brown wool you used for the binding and in the rug.... Sounds like you got more accomplished than I did. I went to the lake late Friday....went out on the boat on Sunday for a bit....a cookout (or two) with my friend and her husband...tried to sort through which project to tackle after the kitchen is put back together...read a bit...hooked a very little and just got back home. Can't believe it was 5 days and that's all I got accomplished LOL. ~Robin~

  9. Sounds wonderful to be by the lake though. I sat outside my house today and had lunch. The river was so very blue and sparkly today. Maybe this coming weekend you might get more accomplished. Janice

  11. Hi Janice,
Such a sweet rug and it looks like you found the perfect spot for it!! It can stay out all year too, since it has a more primitive look!! Great job!!! Don't you just love it when a plan comes together????
    Take care!!
