Hello friends.
Hope this post finds you all well.
After I finished working on my crow pillow,
I thought it was time
to pull out my hook, linen and worms.
I had this pattern drawn out
on paper for months now.
When I first drew it on linen.
I screwed up with my boxes.
UGH
So I re-drew my lines and placed an
"X" where I wanted to hook my
hit and miss.
Day 1 progression.
I did not have enough black,
therefore my outlines are a dark brown.
Now this probably does not look like a lot done.
Well I only am able to work on my lunch hour.
that is after I actually eat.
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Day 5
Day 6
This was Sunday afternoon
the Sunday before
Mother's Day.
the Sunday before
Mother's Day.
They released us from work at noon,
so after I ate lunch,
I actually worked a few hours on this
while watching some tv.
If you can see, some of my rows
are a bit wonky.
I hand cut all of my strips,
so they are not all even.
A very primitive look indeed.
I dont really have a color plan for this
hit or miss part of the rug.
I just grab a worm and use it.
If you notice, the middle is also blank.
Well I do have a plan for that.
Just want to wait and draw that
until I am completed with the border.
I will give you a clue though.
It will be that of my favorite animal.
Do you know what that will be?

You've accomplished quite a lot. Aren't you the smart one by keeping the center a secret. Leaves us wanting a little more.
ReplyDeleteYes I was a bit sneaky on this. Janice
DeleteYou have been working so hard I am glad you are getting some down time to hook. Looking forward to seeing what you put in the middle.

Thanks Cathy. Will show soon. Janice
DeleteYou have been a very busy lady. I'm glad that you got sent home early. Your hit and miss rug is coming along well. I'm looking forward to seeing your centre as well.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julia
Thank you Julia! Will show soon hopefully once completed. Janice
DeleteI can't wait to see it complete. I would guess a cat, wait a horse? Not sure...but, looking good so far.
ReplyDeleteNeither a cat or horse, but thank you for guessing! Janice
DeleteI think you have accomplished a great deal...lunch hours are not that long. My guess is a kitty.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Mother's Day.
Nope not a kitty, but good guess. Janice
DeleteHi Janice,
ReplyDeleteI think you have accomplished quite a bit and love your colors!! As to the center, I am guessing it will be a cat, but will be excited to see what you choose!! Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!!
Heart Hugs~

Mother's Day was very nice. Thank you! Janice
DeleteIt is those little minutes here and there that are so easily wasted, but not the case with you. I love the ever so slightly prim look of the piece. My guess for the center is a rabbit.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct Mary. Thanks for guessing. Janice
DeleteLove what you are hooking !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Will show as soon as I am finished. Janice
DeleteThis is going to look great. I've never hooked rugs -- it looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeannie. It is fu and relaxing. Janice
DeleteJanice, my guess is a kitty too, but whatever it is will be wonderful. I love the look of hooked rugs. The colors just look old and primitive. Just what you want..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteNot a kitty, but thanks for trying to guess. Will show as soon as I am finished. Stay tuned. janice
DeleteIt's looking great Janice...even with limited time you are a much quicker hooker than I (gee...that doesn't sound quite "right," does it LOL?) I would venture a guess at either a kitteh...or a bunneh....ha ha....can't narrow it down! ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteOh...duh...I just read the other comments and now know what it is. That'll teach me for writing before I real ;-)
DeleteWell Robin it is going to be a bunny so you were right. Lol hope you are having a marvelous day! Janice
