A Little Bit Of That
Can You Believe It?
Summer Is Almost Over.
Where did it go?
Garden Centers and stores are once again
filling up on gourds, pumpkins, mums and cornstalks.
Autumn is by far my favorite time of the year....
But again
Where did Summer go?
The cicadas are singing in the trees.
The crickets are chanting out their songs.
The egrets and herons have flown off to their winter homes.
The trees here are already turning vibrant
oranges, reds, yellows and browns.
Time to bring out my hooking gear.
One day I will finish this rather large rug.
My buttocks baskets holds my wormies.
{pieces of cut wool}
Last Sunday we went to Bob's cousins house
for our Detroit Lion's opening football game.
He lives just around the corner from us.
I made both chicken chili and my sweet & spicy chile.
Both were a hit and easy peasy.
Just put the ingredients together and voila...
let my crock pots do the work.
Yes I have 2 crock pots.
Bob wanted me to make both chili's,
so he bought me another one at a garage sale
that had never been used a few weeks ago.
I managed to hook another corner while watching the game.
Even started the third corner.
One day I will finish this...one day.
Our buying trip was not so successful this time.
Finding prims cheap enough to re-sell at
a decent price is getting harder to do.
We do not like to gouge our customers
like some antique stores do....
but it is getting to be a tough market out there.
Also my thoughts have already turned to Christmas.
Calicos and wool will be made into a pillow.
I am calling it a
Log Cabin Christmas.
Finally a happy mistake was made
while we were gone these past few days.
I had eaten my tangerine and must have forgotten
to throw my peels in the compost we have.
This is how I found them yesterday after getting home.
They are drying up nicely on their very own.
From now on I will keep the peels,
and let them dry naturally.
I will cut them up into smaller pieces and add to my
dried orange peels for more color.
Goes to show that mistakes sometimes are a good thing.
Off to work on my log cabin.
What's in store for your DAY?
A Little Bit Of This & That Blessings To All!

Nothing like homemade chili to hit the spot!! Crock pots make life so much easier too. I often dry orange peels and put them in a homemade potpourri with cloves, cinnamon sticks and allspice berries. They make great dried additions to the winter holiday season as well. I bet your log cabin is going to turn out cute! Who doesn't love a log cabin ?
ReplyDeleteThe year is on the verge of end.. what I did through out the year?? I don't know.. :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder where summer went too...sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love fall but just hate what comes after it :(
Your crafting is really nice :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your completed craft projects. Where did summer go...I'm trying to figure that out myself lol. Wow, it went fast. Autumn is also my favorite time of year, I stopped in at a country market today and enjoyed my time there. We had a Great Blue Heron beside our pond yesterday, he must be a straggler. I wish I had my camera with me. Have a wonderful week.
