Whippy Wednesday

First up is Viola Martini.

This is where I left last month.
I continue to work on this piece
for my heritage wall on Sunday's.

Finished adding in my paternal
great grandmother's names now.
Now if you have an eagle eye,
you will see that my dad's grandmother's name
reads Rosemary Husson- Husson.
Her maiden name was also Husson.
She was the cousin to her husband,
my great paternal grandfather.
True story.
We had to do our family tree in school
when I was in middle school.
My teacher gave me a "D" because
he thought I got lazy adding in my
paternal great grandmother's name.
Well thankfully it was parent-teacher's
conference that same night.
My mom took my paper and told my teacher
that what I had written was correct.
He then gave me an "A".

Am almost at the finish line.
I am 85% certain I will add in the border,
even though it was not in the pattern.
Me thinks it will give some definition
to this piece...the other 15% of me
wants to get this to the framer.
Who will win?

Next up is Strawberry Faire.

With Easter over, I am over
stitching on bunnies now.
Wanted to get back to my strawberry stitch.

This is where I left off last year.

Last week worked on the strawberry a bit more.
I really hate this strawberry.
It is why I gave up last year.
Am determined to finish it though this year.

Sarah Casey Unwin is another
pattern that is taking quite awhile.

Last time I had the middle flower completed.

Now I just have most of the right top done.
Lots of color changes in this one.

It is going to be a biggin.

I had finished
the First Day of Christmas.
Partridge in a pear tree.

Two Turtle Doves is now finished.
These still need the beads added...
but will wait and do that once
finished with all of them.

Also once I have all 12 completed,
will turn them into stockings
to have on my Christmas tree.

In other news,
my daughter Michele celebrated
her 44th birthday yesterday.
We are going out to dinner
next week to celebrate.

Michael's doctors would not release
him to go back to work.
It was discovered he has two broken toes...
and his tailbone still needs to heal more.
Maybe next month he can go back to work.
His attorney stated that suing the drunk driver
would probably be a waste of time
as she already has many garnishments
out against her for non-payment...
and no job. Go figure.
Am I  surprised...no.

I had a great vacation.
Mom and I spent lots of time together.
We ended up going out to lunch a few days...
and dinner a few days.
Stitched mostly at night while watching tv.

Well off to work.
Cannot believe April is almost over already.

Wednesday Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. All your stitching projects look great!
I had a Director of Nursing named Husson about 30 years ago. It's not a common name. I had a uncle that married a cousin, it used to happen.
Glad you had a good time with your Mom!

  2. Can't Michael get some recovery for his vehicle from his car insurance? Shame so much injury was done to him without compensation there.

  3. I was wondering the same thing Saundra said - his car insurance? If he needs the help. I like your starwberries!

  4. Wowza...you certainly are an ambitious stitcher. I could do a "Whippy Wednesday" post once a quarter and would only likely have the same WIP to show that I had the previous quarter. I saw the "Husson-Husson" right away and was wondering.... I could see if it were a common name like Smith or Anderson shared, but this was an unusual name. And, yes, it was quite common "back in the day." (Love what you're doing with that piece...the script writing is gorgeous!). I agree with Michael's attorney - as they say, "you can't get blood from a turnip." Unfortunately. And, if I recall properly, at some point you mentioned that Michael only had PLPD insurance so he really is in a bind as his medical expenses and damage to his vehicle isn't covered. :-( I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Happy Birthday wishes to Michele. Ahhh...to be 44 again. ;-)

  8. I love the stitching and had to chuckle that you hate that strawberry. It is so cute... I know you will persevere with that ol berry. ;-)
Sending hugs for all of your family, Michael and your birthday girl.

  9. Your stitching is so lovely! You inspire me! So terrible about the issue for what Michael is going through. Have a wonderful birthday celebration with you daughter!

  10. I can't imagine how frustrated Michael is when there's nothing that can be done. I still think he should sue the owner of the car who loaned it to the person who hit him. Your stitching is amazing. I just would never have the patience to do that. April is going at super speed. May will usher in the beginning of summer doings even if Summer isn't until the end of June. Have a good week!
