Sunday Starts

Hello friends.

April is almost over, but would like to get
some Spring projects worked on.
Starting with Bedelia
I love bunnies as most of you know.

I started at the bottom left.
Worked the bottom leaf and part of the bunny
the first night.
Then the next night went up the stem
to the flower.
Dont know what the heck I was thinking.
I kept looking at the floss,
the pattern and the floss codes on the chart.
Well dufASS me was looking at the chart...
and completely used the wrong color floss.
I also completely forgot what colors
I had chosen at the store. UGH

The two colors were supposed to be this.

I used these two colors.

At the store I chose to use this darker purple
instead of the brown that was called for.
Did not figure out my mistake
until I was almost done with the flower.
I am NOT going to frog this whole flower out.
My dilemma now is do I stitch the other
two flowers the same way?
Or do I stitch them in the two purples
I intended on doing?
Your thoughts?
I already decided I was not going
to stitch those motifs at the top left.
Just thought they were too busy for my liking.

Next up is my pitiful start
of Spring Saltbox 2.
Am loving the blues in this so far though.
Hope to get both saltboxes done soon
so I can display them next year.

Then I started this pattern on Good Friday.

The title of this one being
Antique Birds and Angel.
Thought it was a fitting start for this day,
having an angel in it.
Once completed, I will add in initials
of family members for my heritage wall.

My one day start.

Was not sure if I would like the red and green...
but the colors do compliment one another.

The start of the side border has
more reds, green and even a pink.
Stitching this on 36 ct
Vintage Country Mocha
by Lakeside Linen.

In other news,
Bob and I went to his cousin's
for dinner last night.
He finally got back from visiting
his mom and dad, sister and brother.
He was gone 6 weeks to Las Vegas.
We took too 2 slabs of ribs.
He also made 2 slabs.
I made devilled eggs and baked beans.
His wife had a strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert.
It was a nice evening catching up.

The freighters are back in the river...
and already even some foreign ones.
It is nice seeing them once again.
Also the fishing has been pretty good it seems.
The boats have been hanging all around
our dock so the fish must be in our area right now.
Bob needs to get his license and get out there.
Having a perch or walleye dinner would be nice.

Well not much else going on.
I did tape the funeral for the pope,
so I plan on watching that today.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Sunday Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. I love fresh fish. My first husband and I used to surf fish off the beach.

  3. Pretty starts all, but I agree with Lauren on the Antique Birds and Angel. Yikes! That's a LOT of stitches. Any opinion I give on your first dilemma with the flowers wouldn't be worth much as I am not good at visualizing (and I've also been known to frog large portions of stitching if burning isn't an option). But, I guess I'd likely keep them all the same? Although if you don't do the additional motifs, perhaps changing the color of the other two might add interest without being distracting. (See, told you it wouldn't be worth much.)

  4. I'm like the cranky crow - not good at visualizing. My initial though it to have the flowers the same.
The Antique birds looks like a huge project!
Glad the freighters are back. So happy that Spring is here!

  5. Could you do the other flower in the dark color with the gold?
    The dinner sounds scrumptious.

  7. Good luck with your project, sadly I don't know what to say this time around. ;-)
I am excited to get up to Superior to see some freighters. I love how they are a sign of spring for you.
    Love, Carla

  8. You must be the fastest stitcher of all time. And so many wonderful ones, too. How exciting to see the freighters. I watched the Pope's funeral too. Very moving, but then so was he.
