Hello friends.
Spring is almost here.
YAY
March always reminds me
of the color green.
Am not a big fan of green,
but I do have faux greens...
so this is what I decided to do
for my March CupboardScape.
This cross stitch was a pattern
from Notforgotten Farm.
I stitched this many years ago.
The border is shamrocks.
This is a cement bunny planter.
I kill indoor plants so another faux one.
Again showing off my leprechaun
by Notforgotten Farm.
More faux ferns inside one of
my favorite ovoid blue slip crocks.
Me thinks I captured the green pretty well here.
In other news,
hope everyone had a wonderful
St Patrick's Day
if you celebrate.
Gone are the days where I would go to
the Irish bar with co-workers.
We would sing Irish songs and drink green beer.
Stay until almost closing, and get up
to go to work the next day.
The owner knew us,
so he never charged a cover fee.
The fee was for the band.
All others had to pay $5.00 to get in.
He catered in Irish food.
He made so much money just this one day,
it covered the bills for the remainder of the year.
My mom told me on Saturday that just
North of her they had 6 inches of snow.
So glad it did not come near us.
We had rain off and on Saturday and Sunday.
Bob put a fire in the fireplace to get the chill out.
We were toasty at night.
My co-worker who left me, called last night.
He does miss me, but is so much happier.
Am glad for him.
I told him I was counting my 339 days now to retirement.
He laughed and said it was actually less days
that I have to work...because I should not
count the weekends, my vacation days,
the holidays we get off and even my sick days.
If I do that I estimate 200 days.
Well that's it for now.
Happy Post St Patty's Day Blessings To All!
Janice
I think March is a green month too. I do like green in certain shades. I love your St Patrick's stitches. Any plants in my house are faux too as I can't keep them alive.
ReplyDeleteFun memories of past St Patrick's Day celebrations. It's amazing that the owner of that bar did that well in a day.
Your working days are counting down!
I don't grow plants well either - those faux ones look so pretty. Your old St. Pat's Days sound like fun. Glad your new worker is happy. And 200 days is WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteI also remember those days gone by when I'd go out drinking and get up to go to work the next day. Thankfully those days are far behind me.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I think you and I would have gotten along swimmingly in our younger days LOL. And Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day to you. I've not a lick of Irish in me, but I still enjoy the day. I bought all the fixings for corned beef and cabbage but haven't made it yet. I'm hoping I can time it so my son and DIL will help with the leftovers. Your March vignette is so very pretty. Love your bunny planter. I stitched that same "Sepia Sampler" from Notforgotten Farm but framed it in a dark frame. I do like your light frame very much. We're not so lucky to escape the white stuff. We're under a winter advisory for a blizzard. Initially they said 7" with sleet before but now they've upped it to 8-12" with high winds and whiteouts. Grrrr. Spring in Nod.
ReplyDeleteThat little bunny planter is a cutie. And I still love the leprechaun. I remember counting down the retirement days -- I checked them off, every day, on my calendar! (And just think -- if you get a vacation in there, or a sick day -- it still takes the days down!)
