My First Winter

Hello sweet friends!
Yesterday it rained most of the day,
so in between working on more bunnies,
grabbing Bob some lunch,
I decided to create a simple Winter display.

I took one of my Child's chairs
which is Winter white in color.

Added one of my many wreaths.

Then placed my log cabin in front.

With my mom staying with us for
almost a week,
she reminded me that when she was little
she actually lived in a log cabin
for a few years until their farmhouse
was built on the property.

She said their first Christmas tree
in the log cabin had all homemade
paper ornaments on it,
and gramma B's polish ornaments
which were handed down to her.
It was all they could afford.

I imagine that simple tree and even
though their tree was not ornate,
the love that was poured into
those ornaments was so special.

Simplicity at its best.

The new year is almost here.
What will your New Year's Eve plans be?

Bob and I will spend a quiet evening
at home this New Years Eve.
A few appetizers which I will make,
whilst Bob whips up some frozen Margaritas.
We will try to stay up until the new year...
but one never knows if we make it or not. LOL

I want to wish all of my friends a

Be back in the New Year.

A Winter Display Blessings To All!

  1. I am quite sure I'll not last until the dropping of the ball in NY city. So my plans are to welcome the new year in behind closed eyes. However, I WILL be pulling loops on a rug.

    1. Well I made it to 11:00pm. Look forward to seeing your rug...maybe the whale will be finished? Janice

  2. Loved the story Janice. So many nice pictures. Simple really is the best.
Happy New Year to you and Bob.

  3. Hi Janice,
Love the sweet little display! I have a weakness for chairs and they make the best pieces for building a display, don't they?
Hope you and yours have a Blessed and Happy New Year, too!!
    Heart Hugs~

  14. Janice, that is really the sweetest winter display. Your story is similar to mine, only I am old enough to actually have been a part of my grandmother's Christmas display. I remember the tree that was cut down on their property and those large, very colorful glass bulbs shining brightly. There is nothing like those memories. I have a few of her ornaments but they just don't look the same on a faux tree with LED lights!..Happy New Year..xxoJudy

    1. Yes you are so correct. Having a real tree is so much more special...but I have not had a real tree in years. Hope this new decade is a good one for you! Janice

  15. Love the simple white vignette, it looks comfortable, I know a strange thing to say. Happiest blessed new year to you and Bob and keep on blogging lol.

  16. Thanks Sandy. Will keep blogging! Been working on bunnies for two weeks for our new store. Seeing bunnies in my sleep. LOL Happy New Year! Janice

  17. I love your Winter display! Simple and lovely. 😊 Kit
