A New Year

A New Decade.
Happy 2020 to you all!

New Year's Eve Bob made it to 9.
I made it to 11.
I tried to see the New Year in.
I failed.

Today my vacation is over.
Have to go back to work.

I have been in bunny mode these past two weeks.
Instead of counting sheep when I go to bed,
I count how many bunnies I have made. LOL
They are multiplying.
(25 now completed)
Plus one Easter Egg.

This new year will bring a new adventure
for Bob and I.

Last year we opened a second store
called The Urban Garage.
Unfortunately it did not turn out as well
as we planned.
We made the difficult decision to close
December 31st.

On another note,
we will open a new store in March.
This one will be in the same place
as our Urban Garage was.

You know the old adage
"If at first you don't succeed,
try, try again.
Well try again we will.

We will be moving our candy, pickles,
jams, popcorn and candles from
our Back Porch store and expand
into the new one.
Bob will be making handmade wood items
while I will make more of my handmades.
Thus the reason why I have been on
this bunny kick.

This new store will be jam packed
with all kinds of goodies we have planned.

This is all I can share
with you right now friends.

We are very excited and have been
laying out the design for this new store
for the last month.
We have also been purchasing
unique things that will also be for sale.

When the time is right, I will share more.
Hopefully this new year and decade
will be a good one for a second store.

Our Back Porch Antique store is still going strong.
A big thank you to all of our customers
who come far and wide to shop.
Without you, our dream of having
a small business would fade away.
Just remember small business owners
put their heart and souls into their work.
Bob has done that for the last 12 years
at Back Porch.
We hope we can continue the success
with our new adventure.

Wishing you all a big success in whatever
you choose to do this new decade.

Well back to work I go.
Tim Horton's here I come. LOL

What will this new year find you doing?

A New Decade Blessings To All!
Janice

  2. Another thing we have in common...I keep reinventing myself, business...yes, if one doesn't work, try, try again. You're on to something with the handmades, I think it's coming back...all the things I made in the 90's (within reason here now...) are now coming back around. Customers want a OOAK...I laugh every time I type this now! Thanks Good Luck!

    1. Thanks Julie. Need all the best wishes we can get. Both scary and excited at the same time since the other store did not take off. Good thing with the other store is we can still sell that inventory over at our Back Porch store. Janice

  14. Can't wait to see new store even though Urban Garage was filled with a lot of great things. Hoping the new store goes over in a spectacular way. The antique store is also full great offerings. Have to save money for another trip into the stores. Always finding something worthy of bringing home.

  15. Thanks Sandy! I have been creating non-prim items, but will be making some prim items too! Will be stenciling items as well. Cannot say yet what the full scope will be, but when I can, will do. Bob did just purchase 2 cool antique hanging scales for Back Porch. Not sure if he put them in there yet though. Janice
