For our yearly Halloween
store display.
store display.
Yes friends come visit via my blog.
This year our theme is a funeral home
for the dearly departed.
Family members seated near
the coffin of our dear friend
OTTA B ALIVE
RIP
Notice our friend the vulture.
EMMA GONER and her son BARRY D ALIVE
Calcaterra Memorial Chapel
(this is a real funeral home in Michigan)
Bob bought these plates.
Harris funeral home was in Detroit Michigan.
Bob picked up this old cardboard sign.
Visitors sitting outside the chapel,
with their dog
FANGS
They even brought their pet goldfish
FISH BONES
Plus their pet bird in the cage.
CACKLES
is his name.
This fella wanted a better view
so he is looking down at everyone.
We don't know his name,
so if you do please let us know.
Day 2 of our decorating we decided
we needed some cobwebs all over.
This was the refreshment table.
The mice are now invading the area.
Don't you just love our hanging funeral light
and our touchier behind the coffin.
Bob added the purple lights.
BARRY D HATCHET was hanging around.
While
YUL B Next
was sitting nearby.
OTTA B ALIVE
looks pretty darn good for his age.
His pet
FRAY D KATT
stays by his side.
We added a wig to
EMMA GONER
STELLA LIVE
is sitting at the desk writing in the guest book.
YUL B NEXT is chatting across the room
with EMMA GONER.
Night time view of the coffin.
We found these red velvet curtains
up in our our store attic.
They worked perfectly behind the coffin.
Then Bob added purple lights.
{what we could find}
Wish more stores around here would sell
Halloween lights.
We went to every Halloween store in our county
and every Dollar store looking for these lights.
We purchased all that we could find.
The other lamp lit next to
EMMA GONER.
Hope you enjoyed the tour
of our Halloween display.
We had fun putting this together
and even sold some of the props...
after all we are a store.
Tomorrow night we pass out candy
with our skeleton friends.
Hope the rain passes us by though.
Come Inside Blessings To All!
Janice

We always have so much fun deciding on our yearly Halloween display... more so than Christmas. I cannot believe how much funeral related items Bob had purchased, including the benches that held our coffin. We used real benches that were used in funeral homes before they started using the wheeled carts now. I forgot to take pics of them. We did have fun last night and then it snowed. UGH. Janice
DeleteThis is such fun! Your store is so cool in every single way and I love how you incorporated the fun lighting, the skeletons, the whole thing. I'll bet people just love coming there!
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch Jeanie! We had a lot of positive comments from both kids and adults and we loved putting it together. It’s a yearly thing for us. Janice
DeleteThis is a clever and spooky set up you created in your store!!!! No doubt, it has been a hit with customers too. Enjoy handing out candy tomorrow night. I am ready for my trick or treaters. It is supposed to be really hot and muggy again tomorrow so I am guessing many kids will be roasting in their costumes. It is so weird how exceptionally hot it has been here since last weekend. Maybe the Good Pumpkin will bring us some cooler air this Halloween!!
ReplyDeleteThis may have been our best Halloween 🎃 display to date. Well we had rain which turned to big snowflakes ❄️ last night. They even played Christmas music at the restaurant we went to last night. I would love to send our weather to you. Janice
DeleteVery cool displays! That's a whole lot of bones :)
ReplyDeleteYes we used lots of 🦴 and it was fun! Not so much the snow that came down last night though. Janice
DeleteWow, you will attract a lot of traffic in your store. That is an amazing display of skeletons in one place. Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julia
Well we almost gave out the 800 pieces of candy Bob purchased for the kiddos. We have been collecting these skeletons for years. We love creating our yearly display. Janice
DeleteWhat a hoot! Love the names. I'm fromMichigan. My grandparents lived in Birmingham and I grew up in Bloomfield Hills. My grandfather owned Trumbull Chevrolet in Detroit. Where is your shop?
ReplyDeleteOur store is in Marine City. I am familiar with Trumbull Chevy. How nice that your grandfather owned it! Janice
DeleteI love the set up and the story behind it, such imaginative visitors stopped by. What a great imagination, wish I could have gotten in to see. Hope you had a lot of trick or treaters
ReplyDeleteYou have until Sunday to see the display, then Bob is taking it down. I am working Urban Garage tomorrow while Bob will be at the show selling at the old k of c bldg on King Rd. Lots of goodies will be there with different vendors setting up. Janice
DeleteThank you Laurie. Bob and I once again had fun creating our Halloween display. We love doing it for our customers ands that stop by. Janice
