For The Love Of Wood

Happy Sunday my dear friends.
Oh the mugginess has returned once again.
We were hoping for some much needed rain
yesterday, but alas it went just South of us.
Why is it that we complain when it is cold,
and then we complain when it is hot. LOL
Guess its the human in me.

Today I wanted to show you a few of
my favorite wood pieces.
It was hard to pick, therefore
these are just random.

Hope you enjoy!

Flax Winder

Early Wall Apothecary

Breadboards and Wood Paddle
on top of my stove.

Pie Peels and Wood Box
on my kitchen counter.

Wood Rack with Hooks
{Plus part of my wood white cabinet}

What are your favorite wood pieces?

For The Love Of Wood Blessings To All!

  1. your wood pieces are beautiful and I think the fact they were used and looks like well loved makes them more special, I have a big wooden bowl that has been in the family for over 100 years and I use it daily,, its my favorite.

  2. I, too, love all things wood and its natural beauty. You have a nice collection, indeed! My favorite wood piece (and it is hard to choose!) is my six-board New England blanket chest, ca. 1790. I realize attachment isn't goode...but I love it every time I cast my glance its way! :)

    1. We also have a six-board red blanket chest which we use as our living room coffee table. Attachment is good when it comes to the beauty of old wood...you cannot find that in a new furniture store. Janice

  6. I love old vintage wooden pieces. They speak to me of stories and stories. A few weeks ago, a swap buddy gave me an old wooden cigar box that belonged in her family as she was cleaning out. Now I am thinking how I can use it to store things like craft or sewing items.

Sure with I could send you some of our rain!! It has been relentless since the middle of May and we are all feeling a bit washed out down here. How about sending us some cooler drier air in exchange for some humid and stormy Gulf Waters right up through the center of the nation? If only we could orchestrate what happens with the Gulf's very warm waters this time of year. It seems to want to hit default button of brewing up tropical storms that gather strength and then blow across us over and over!!

    1. I would gladly trade some rain for this hot humid muggy weather. We were relieved yesterday afternoon when finally a round of storms came rolling through. But back to heat again today. Our grass is brown instead of green. I wish we could hit a green button for more rain up here. Seems we are never happy about the weather. LOL Janice

  7. We finally had a decent amount of rain last evening...sure didn't cool things off, but at the least the yard had a good drink! Love your collections...my favorite wood pieces are the old, string winders..I have a couple of really unique ones...have a great day and pray for rain!

    1. A storm finally rolled in yesterday afternoon...but not enough I am afraid. Hope we get more, but it seems no more in the forecast this week. You must show off your winders in a post soon. Would love to see them Bobbie! Janice
