Let The Love Begin

Hello my friends.
Trying to get my love on.
Valentine's Love that is.

Just so very busy at the new store,
that I don't have much time for anything else.

These are a few pillows that I have.

Not a lot of Valentine's out this year.

Yesterday I drove up almost 2 hours
for my aunt's viewing.
Today Bob and I are headed back for
the funeral.
They were unable to dig the grave
 due to weather.
She will remain in a mausoleum
until this can happen,
 most likely in the Spring.

My mom is holding out rather well.
Keeping my fingers crossed for today.

Our First Display

Hello my friends!
Well we did it.
Our first display for the
Blue Water Gift Shop.

This blue spatterware vase made this display.
Trust me.
I originally ordered a gray urn....
well um...sometimes my plans dont go so well.
The urn was resin.
First mistake...not strong enough to hold everything
and started to tip over.
So I went over to our antique store and purchased
this wonderful vase from one of our vendors.

I then had Bob bring over these candy dishes
that we were no longer utilizing.
7 0r 8 bags of it...cannot remember now.
All I know is it took me
a few hours to put all of the taffy
by color in each dish.
The taffy in our other store is just in a
large wood barrel all mixed together.
However I wanted to make a statement,
and decided to display our taffy this way.
(blue taffy dish is behind the blue vase)

The next thing I added was this gigantic
bunny which is 6 feet tall.
He is a statement piece for sure.

Back to my table.
I cut branches from one of our shrubs
and added them to the blue vase.
Then I wired in prisms to the branches.
(sorry snowy day at time of this pic)

Next day was cloudy.
When the sun is out,
the prisms give off rainbows of light.
Right now it looks like raindrops
coming off the branches.

Bob painted this round table
the same blue as our cabinets.
Blue Water (Benjamin Moore)
{notice the green on top of the white cabinets}
Bob purchased some artificial grass
for our Spring Window displays.
This is my next project....
once I finish with inventory now.

Folks walking by have been stopping more,
and even walking in to find out what
we are doing.
We decided to put a flyer on the windows
and door now....but still folks come in.
I keep telling Bob we need to lock the front door.
But me thinks he likes folks stopping in.

So anyone in the area...
come on in.
Oh yeah, we actually had a sale yesterday.
A gentlemen came in and bought
a jar of jam which we just stocked.

Well friends....
back to work at the store.
Still have to order the specialty teas,
potpourri, honey...and more.

We also have a local lady coming in today
to give us samples of pretzels.
Looking forward to that.

Until next time,
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Getting My Love On

Thank you everyone for your sweet comments
for my aunt and godmother.
She will truly be missed in our family.
The funeral is not until next Monday,
as they are trying to get my cousin's son
to fly in who is serving in our military.

I managed to put out a few things
for Valentine's Sunday.
I did not work the new store that day.
Had to do laundry and clean up a bit.

I created this fun Cupid years ago,
and still enjoy putting him out yearly.

This prim doll is holding my version
of a Hershey kiss in her hand.

Placed on my Wood table riser.

On my kitchen table.
Just noticed it is off center.

Today I have a dentist appt.
then back to work at the new store.
More ordering and more decorating.

More folks are walking by....
peeking in the windows...and even stopping in.
We are getting positive feedback.
Only one person thus far complained
that we were copying another candy store in town.
The problem is this person had no idea
we are just moving our candy counter
from our other store to our new one,
and that we will be much more
than a candy store.
Guess you cannot always please everyone.

Well have to get to work at the store,
before my appt.

Are you getting ready for Valentine's?

Blue Water Gift Shop

Good Happy Saturday my friends.
I hope the weekend finds you doing
what you choose to do.
Mine will be taking my FIL on our
weekly grocery shopping jaunt.
Then I will be headed to our new store
to work more long hours.
Each night after my own work,
Bob and I spend another 3 hours at the new store.

Speaking of new store,
this is the logo I designed for said store.
Blue Water Gift Shop.

These past 2 weeks,
Bob has been working tirelessly
on building cabinets to hold our goodies.
This is one half of the candy side.

This corner area will be for tea, honey,
coffee and kitchen related items,

Bob chose the color,
which by the way was called "Blue Water"
Here is the start of the drawers and cabinet doors
he also created.

I just love it against the gray walls.

This is our window area in the front.
Again my talented hubby made doors
for the cabinets...and shelves inside
to house goodies.
The white color I chose which was called
"Icicle White"

Bob moved our candy counter
from our other store and painted it blue also.
Compliments the white candy shelves in back.
The other white cabinet next to the blue one
will be fore all of our pickled items and jams.
Some new items as well.

So I wanted tables in front of the counter.
We went to Hobby Lobby and looked at them.
They were too small to display anything.
Bob came up with this.
I love these smaller cabinets.
I can add my display on top,
while leaving more merchandise on the shelves.
My Bob missed his calling I think.

Then he surprised me with this behind our
checkout counter.
Yep.he made it all, including the little white one.

Bob needs to finish up painting.
Then the fun begins!
I took a 2 week vacation now,
so my job begins on decorating....
today though I need to do inventory,
but soon the fun will begin.

On a sad note,
my aunt passed early this morning.
Thank you all for the prayers.
It was very much appreciated.
My heart is broken once again,
but knowing she is with
my uncle (her brother) is easier.
I know they are laughing it up
once again!

Paper Flowers

Hello sweet friends.
First I want to apologize for not
commenting these past few days
to your blogs and even my own.

My aunt took a turn for the worse
and I had to drive many hours to
bring my mom many hours
to visit her sister one last time probably.
My cousin drove my uncle to the hospital too.

Once we left the hospital yesterday afternoon,
my mom wanted to go home...
so I once again drove many hours
to take her home and drive back to my home.
My mom wanted to be alone.
Alone in her grief knowing her sister
would be going on to her next life.

Any minute now I fear I will be getting a call.
The call I do not want to get.

The flowers in these pics were paper ones
I created for sale in our new store.

I need to go to work now,
however it will be hard to get anything done.
Don't feel like doing anything.
So numb right now and tired.

Winter Turkey Trot

Can it be Sunday already?
Where did the weekend go?
Well mine was making carrots.

A few weeks ago,
I saw some turkeys in the snow.
They looked like they were playing.
Doing the turkey Winter trot!
This was my inspiration for this display.

Of course I had to add a rabbit in the mix.

See the turkey feathers?

Add one more.

I love blue and white
together for Winter displays.

With a little greenery.

Voila
Another simple Winter display.

Today I am headed to our new store
to do some inventory that we bought for
our little store

Blue Water Gift Shop.

YIPPEE
we are legal now.

Our new store will feature
candy, pickled everything
and jams that we currently sell
at our other store.
We will be moving that product over.
Adding specialty coffee and tea,
honey, toffee,
candles, handmades and home decor.

Bob made all of the built in cabinets.
Will show off his craftsmanship
in another post.
He is painting now.

What have you been doing this weekend?

What Gray Hare

Good Thursday morning friends!
Its been very chilly in the mornings this week.
Temps in the teens. BRRR.

Today's post I am rushing
for the Spring season to begin.

I made just a few prim bunnies thus far.

When I started creating these bunnies
it reminded me of a story.
My kids were in their teens, and they just
had to tell me
"mom you have a gray hair"

So I decided to create a gray hare. LOL

However my reply to my kids....
after I pulled out that gray hair.
"What gray hair are you talking about?"
(notice no gray hare in this pic) LOL

But more came back.
I dyed and dyed my hair....
but finally decided I earned those gray hairs.
Now I am a silver gray fox. :-)

Well I have to hop in my car and go to work.

Have a marvelous Thursday my friends!
The weekend is almost here.
