All Hallows Eve Is A Coming

Boo to my friends.
As Halloween approaches,
this is the only Halloween display
I set up other than my
October CupboardScape which I will feature
in my next post.
I use to be called the Halloween Queen.
At my other house I had a yearly Halloween party.
My entire house, including baths and basement
were decked out for Halloween.
I even had Halloween toilet paper.
Since moving here,
I no longer had these parties.
I barely have time for much of anything.
Hope you enjoy.

In other news,
I FOUND my ring.
WOHOO YIPEE
I did my first load of laundry last Friday.
When I pulled that load out of the dryer,
there was my ring.
My only guess is it must have gotten stuck
on one of my sweaters and it became loose in the dryer.
Just thankful I found it.

Yesterday my daughter got laid off.
She is devastated.
Being a single mom she is now worried.
I cannot blame her.
She applied to be a Grub Hub driver
and was accepted.
Now I will worry about her driving around.
My future DIL is now on strike.
She works for MGM Detroit and they walked out.
Now my son is worried.
They just purchased a house over the Summer.
They need both incomes.

We are worried too.
Store sales have NEVER
been bad at the antique store.
Now they are.

My "ME" day was very nice.
I worked a bit on two cross stitch projects.
Did more laundry.
Hooked a bit on my new rug.
Cleaned a bit.
Watched tv.
Made dinner.
In fact it was so nice...I may ask Bob for another one.

Well have to get back to work.
BTW, return to work has been delayed again,
which is fine by me.
May have to return back now toward
the end of Nov or early Dec.
Fine with me.

Pre Halloween Blessings To All!
Janice

  2. Great that you found your ring. If it has a stone in it you should take it to the jewelry store and have the setting checked to be sure it isn't loose after the tumbling in the washer and dryer. Back in the day I used to decorate for all holidays but not as elaborately as you, Lauren and Robin.
Sorry the kids are having job issues and hope another door opens for them.

  4. I'm glad that you found your ring. Having been through the wash it must be sparkling clean. I haven't dug in the compost to see if my wedding band is in there yet.

I'm so sorry for all the people loosing their job because of the way things are. So many people will loose their home because of this. I pray that your daughter will be safe in her new job. It's going to be a rough winter for a lot of people.

I really like the crow and the skull over a pile of antique books.

    Take care, hugs.

  5. Yay on the ring! Bet it sparkles twice as bright now. Love your Halloween displays. Of course, the vintage pieces get me every time. I did not decorate as much as most years, but enough to bring me some joy. I do miss having the outside all decked out but it is what it is. I feel so bad for the kids. Something tells me things are going to get worse before they get better unfortunately. ~Robin~

  6. With all that is going on in my life, I never even got my Halloween decorations out and I'm so bummed about that. Of course, like Robin, I love all your vintage Halloween pieces.
Sounds like you had a great "me" day. Being retired, every day is a "me" day but I sure don't accomplish that much.
So happy you found your ring, but sad to hear about your daughter being laid off. That is so scary for her.
Hopefully sales will pick up at the antique shop.

  8. I hate when I lose stuff and I'm so glad you found your ring! I'm sorry about the job losses in the family. That would be scary and I hope they all can find new jobs and perhaps better paying ones too. You never know what God has in store! Sorry your store sales are down. This economy is scary. I love your Halloween things..so cute! We used to have really big Halloween parties with 80 or more folks then we went to just having family. Now that's becoming hard to do too and I think we decided to not do another one next year. We'll see. I love Halloween so much that it would be hard not to do one! Glad you had a "me" day! Have a good week Janice!

  11. Hi Janice. Fun Halloween vignettes. I haven't done any Halloween yet but will put the old witch on the door soon. Times are tough everywhere nowadays and it is scary. I feel sorry for the younger ones who have to work 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. Everything is so expensive and it is hard. Enjoy the last bit of fall..xxoJudy

  13. I love your Halloween displays. In my opinion, the world is turning upside down. Life seems to grab us by our boots straps and shake every last penny out of our pockets. Worry is to be expected. I can NOT even watch TV or listen to anything. You know me, I'm an optimist - all this has my wondering what 2024 holds in store....I've been reminding myself of Philippians. 4:8

  14. I normally don't care much for Halloween decorations...except for yours! I love the vintage pieces you mix in which gives a wonderful old look and feel. I am still having trouble leaving comments here. I normally read blogs on my ipad but can't comment on yours from there. I have to fire up the old pc which is old and slow to do that, so if I don't leave a comment it is not that I am not reading. Your blog is one of my favorites.

  15. I love the boots!! :-)
I am so happy you found your ring. YAY!!!
Please keep us updated on your family. So many times these real stories are buried, the real truth of what is happening to our America needs to be told... LOUD and CLEAR!
