Hello friends!
Well with St Patty's Day tomorrow,
I found a few clovers to share around my home,
even though they are not the real ones.
One being this clover blue slip crock.
One of my glass coffee jars.
This one from the 1940's.
Finally a clover leaf ginger beer bottle.
When I was a pre-teen,
I once spent the entire day in a clover patch
on gramma B's farm.
I tried my best to find a four leaf clover.
Never did find one try as I may though.
Did you ever try to find one and succeed?
Hope everyone has a
Happy St Patrick's Day tomorrow.
Clover Leaf Blessings To All!
Janice
I had no idea there were clover motifs on pottery. Your pottery wares are so fun and perfect for tomorrow’s celebration. The Clover coffee really caught my eye as I am a coffee drinker and the label on it is fantastic. There were so many brands of coffee back in the day and I wonder how they were different. Today one can walk into any grocery store and there are many many brands and flavors of coffee. What did the earlier vendors have access to in coffee beans and where did they come from? Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you!
ReplyDeleteThere are crocks with a four leaf clover on them as well. Cannot remember the maker right now, but have seen them. I have a small collection of the glass coffee jars. So love the graphics on them! Coffee beans used to come in burlap bags. I do remember seeing them as a kid. Janice
DeleteLove your pieces and no I never found a four leaf clover.
ReplyDeleteCathy
glad to know someone is in my club. :-) Janice
DeleteHow neat is that, that you have some cloverleaf pottery pieces? Yes, I have found many four clover leaves. We had a tiny patch by the front of the barn where I kept the calves. My son used to pick some and offered them to me.
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick Day.
Hugs, Julia
That is awesome to have your own patch of them! Janice
DeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day to you! Love the pottery and I have never found a 4 leaf 🍀 clover! Not that lucky I guess!
ReplyDeleteAnother one in my never found a 4 leaf clover club. Janice
DeleteI have never found a four leaf clover, my mom on the other hand can find one every-time in a patch of clover.
ReplyDeleteYeah, more folks in my never found a 4 leaf clover. Was thinking I was the only one. Janice
DeleteLove each of these but, like Winnie, there is something about the coffee jar label that is extra special. Yes, I have found four-leaf clovers, but only a few....unlike one of my nieces...since early on she could find them. We used to have fun telling her to go out and find one and she would...sometimes an entire bouquet worth. Happy St. Patrick's Day! ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteI have a small collection of the glass coffee jars. How awesome to have a niece who can spot them right away! Lucky her. Janice
DeleteThose are lovely pieces. You know, I've never found a four-leaf clover!
ReplyDeleteJoin my club Jeanie! Janice
DeleteI have had luck in finding 4-leaf clovers. When I lived on Whidbey Island, they were absolutely abundant!
ReplyDeleteI heard that island is beautiful! Janice
DeleteI'm loving all your clovers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren! Janice
DeleteMy husband and I were given a four leaf clover from his sister many year's ago. We still have it. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome to have one of these clovers! Janice
DeleteYes, Janice I did, but have never heard of anyone finding one. As I have said before, you have some great collections. Love that crock with the clover. I totally forgot it was St. Patrick's Day..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! I almost forgot I had this clover crock. Janice
DeleteI too love the coffee jar! How cute is that? Has anyone noticed how the coffee that you buy in the store is often times much less than a pound? The most recent one I bought was a Maxwell House and it has 10 ounces! So maddening! I don't find four leaf clovers but my daughter can look at a patch of clover and pick one out within minutes. Literally! It's amazing. Nice weather here in MA, cold but not frigid. Spring is coming! Jan in MA
ReplyDeleteI have a small collection of these glass coffee jars. Will need to do a post on them. Your daughter is a lucky one! Janice
DeleteI have found hundreds over the years. Can’t say that they changed my luck. Happy St. Patty’s.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome you have found these elusive plants that I cannot find. Janice
Deleteoh my the coffee jar! Yes, I have found 2 in my life. One as a child in the yard by my grandma's and one here on the farm.
ReplyDeleteGuess I am one of the few who have not found one. Maybe I should keep trying. Janice
DeleteYour post made me smile as you brought to mind a memory. When our children were small I watched, as they all 3 searched for a 4 leaf clover in the clumps of wild shamrock that grew on the grounds. I love that coffee jar!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just wish I had found one that day. Never tried again. Maybe I should. Janice
DeleteLove your cloverleaf memory! I also love the coffee jar!
ReplyDeleteI have a small collection of these jars. Janice
ReplyDeleteLove those clovers! I remember getting one as a child and my mom pressed it in a little book. Then a few years ago, I found 4 in our backyard. Always fun to search for them!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome you found four! I need to start looking again. Maybe I will be lucky this go round. Janice
