Settle benches were made with high backs to protect folks from draughts (drafts)
as early homes did not have much insulation.
This was something Bob and I purchased for our Christmas present.

I think this piece is prim perfection.
Need your opinion. Tell me what you think?
Did we get a good present for each other?

ReplyDeleteIt's settled- it is awesome! I love it! I love it when you see those big fireplaces and there is one on either side. I would so want one too. That or one of those high wingback chairs that the sides come forward like the settleback. The look so cozy!
ReplyDeleteGreat gift! Can you drop a hint to my hubby about the chair? ;)
Blessings,
Heather
Love it Janice. It is prim perfect. I wanted one a few years back and could not afford one so the mister made me one. I wanted it to go in front of the fireplace. Once made, it was too tall and obstructed the view too much so we eventually sold it. Have thought of it often and wish now I had kept it. Enjoy yours. What a wonderful present.

ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!! You are one blessed lady you know? If I even suggested a "gift" such as that to my husband, he would say (trust me, I know, I've heard it often enough) "What, for firewood?" Yeah....ain't I the lucky one to live with such a comedian? ;o) GREAT score my friend!! Enjoy! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
