This year I divided up my
Autumn decor by color.
Orange was in our Keeping Room,
while I chose drieds, yellow & browns
for our Living Room.
Lots of pics.
I really wanted to fill this tree with my acorns...
alas not enough time.
This was a pattern from Homespun Prims
which I purchased and stitched years ago.
I think next year I may make it into a pouch.
I use to subscribe to a Plastic Canvas
magazine. This pattern was in it.
At the time I wanted to frame it,
but never got around to it.
This was completed in the 80's sometime.
The drieds on the horse are cow peas.
They were once more purple.
Stitched and framed this last year.
The dried yarrow came form my mom's garden....
gosh probably 10 years now.
She no longer has it as the deer ate it all.
Each year it seems to get browner
instead of the yellow color it once was.
In other news,
driving thru the marsh the other day,
a heron was flying right beside my car.
I slowed down to keep pace with it.
It was pretty cool and wish I could have
taken a video of it.
Speaking of herons and egrets...
both are still here.
They are usually Southbound by now.
Very strange.
Also my mom had a nice birthday.
My cousins came and brought her flowers.
Both my sister and I sent her flowers.
My brother gave her a cupcake.
Bob also bought her a small round 1 serving
carrot cake.
It was so funny, because I stayed there
that night til she was finished with her dinner.
I asked her if she wanted me to open the cake.
"NO" she says... I had too many sweets already
with my dinner.
She had a small cup of apricots.
So I then tell her goodbye.
I was down the hall and forgot to take her
clothes to wash.
Get back into her room and she is trying
to open the cake container.
BUSTED.
LOL
I asked her if she need help,
so I opened it for her.
I went Thursday to take her phone back.
Had to get minutes put on it for her.
Her entire ward is closed due to
someone having covid.
They let me in only because I just
dropped her phone off and left.
She knew why I could not stay.
UGH
I have to go back this morning
to take her clothes.
Hope they let me back in.
Well off to do that in a bit.
Have a wonderful weekend my friends.
Yellow Hued Blessings To All!
Janice

After you left she looked at that cake and decided it did look too good to ignore, lol.
ReplyDeleteI love all the yellow and brown shades in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteUgggh - I hate the covid in her facility. Brings back bad memories. I hope she stays healthy. Love that she decided to eat the cake!
When you said "Yellow" I was perplexed, thinking spring yellow. But these yellows are so soft and delicate and so very fallish. It's all lovely. Cracks me up about the cake! And oh, I wish I'd had that heron experience.
ReplyDeleteYour place looks like it just stepped off the pages of a magazine. I love it. So cozy and you arranged it all so nicely. That’s cool you still have the dried yarrow from your mom’s yard - for ten years! That’s something you can’t replace.
ReplyDeleteFunny about your mom and the cake. 🎂
I have a good friend in a care facility and it always seems they have a portion of the place shut down for something and this time of year it’s everything from Covid to the flu.
That heron flying reminds me of a video of the geese flying and it was beautiful.
I like all these decor. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, l enjoyed seeing all of your photos-loved the bird on the crock I think I may have one similar will look for it. cute about your Mom and the cake-happy weekend
ReplyDeleteKathy
Everything looks lovely in your home.
ReplyDeleteFunny story about your mom and the cake.
Your home is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am like your mom - I would have gone for the cake.
I hate that it is closed because of Covid.
Hope all will be okay.
Beautiful "yellows." You have some of the very best crockery! Funny about your mom and the cake. Argh on the COVID lockout. I can't tell you how many visits I missed with my mom because of COVID. We had so little time with her...and then were denied it. What a great experience with the heron! Initially the scene from Hocus Pocus with Winnie flying next to the car...then a movie about a boy who raised a goose (?) and had to let it go and join a flock and ran with it came to mind. Can't remember the name of the show but I know it made me cry.
ReplyDeleteI always drool over your crocks!
ReplyDeleteWhen are they going to stop punishing people over Covid? That is so wrong to deny people seeing their loved ones. Two weeks to flatten the curve…and over five years later there are still lockdowns. Obviously the so called vaccine doesn’t work no many how many shots you get!
Hi, my cousin Kris still does plastic canvas. She makes the cutest coasters.
ReplyDeleteCOVID lockdown... oh no, I am praying that it is short and all can stay healthy.

Everything looks cozy and ready for cooler weather. It’s been in the 80s here but the forecast for next week has us 20 degree cooler - yay! I’m hearing it’s going to be a cold and snowy winter, and that there won’t be a fall. We will jump straight into it-I better start getting ready! Sounds like your mom had a sweet birthday, and funny about the cake, good for her!
ReplyDeleteBelated happy birthday to your sweet Mom. I hope she continues to recover well and can get out of the rehab center. The Covid thing is still an issue, but I don't think closing it down to family is good for the patients. The staff aren't magic, and they can bring or take viruses with them too. Oh well, I think your decor is very cozy and warm looking. We've had upper temps too but today, thankfully it's rain and cool is following. Maybe more fall like! Have good week Janice!
ReplyDeletePretty displays but I just Love your great corn cob tree and decorations !!!
