With October coming to a close,
Here is my October CupboardScape.
You may see a theme here once you see
one particular item.
Had to add in my cabin for this one.
Can you guess the theme?
If you said pheasants you would be correct.
With the feathers.
Grass
Plus our departed stuffed pheasant.
In other news,
mom is refusing to eat in the dining room.
She is refusing to go to the bathroom
early in the morning...
which is causing a mess for the aides.
Both my sister and I told her if she is
going to continue to do this,
then she wont be going home...
plus she might have to be transferred
to another facility.
My sister cannot change sheets every day.
She cannot worry about her mattress
getting ruined.
We have placed a waterproof mattress pad
on the bed along with 2 other pads.
She wears depends and still...
well she is being lazy,
so if this is what she wants, its her choice.
The town where our store is
has cancelled Halloween until Saturday
because of a football game on Friday.
The athletic director for the school
could have changed the game to Saturday.
Shame on him.
Halloween is Oct. 31st each year.
Some folks are still doing Halloween
on Friday while others Saturday.
We will not be participating at all this year.
Just nonsense if you ask me.
Have to get to work.
Getting colder in the mornings.
October's End Blessings To All!
Janice

I'm so sorry about your Mom... Please get the Doctor to do a urine test on her. She could have developed a UTI which can change mental clarity and hallucinations. It's common.

Donna
I agree with Donna on checking for a UTI. Changes in behavior are often the first sign of one in the elderly.
ReplyDeleteCrazy about that football game, I'd be irritated too.
Our Trick-or-Treat is also Friday eve. I wanted to go to an antique show that evening but will skip that to be home to pass out candy.
ReplyDeleteThe elderly can be so stubborn. I know from personal experience you can’t always reason with them. Prayers that your mom will begin to cooperate.
Wonderful vignettes! Boo hoo if they don't want to celebrate...it can be a fun and not ghoulish holiday!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Donna too! Those are pretty tricky as you get older.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame that he is ruining it for the kids.
Sorry about your mom.
ReplyDeleteSeems silly to change Halloween. Don't really care though, it's just another day for us. We are too remote to have any kids come by anyway.
Your pheasant vignette is great! I did not realize you had a taxidermied one. Awww...that's so frustrating about your mom...but agree they need to check for a uti. They were a curse for my mother once she went to assisted living. :-( Stinks about Halloween too. Back in "my day," Halloween was on the 31st and if you wanted to go trick or treating, that's when you did it. Now, it's a guess. If there's school the next day, they change it around...and since I live in Nod (which is smack dab in the middle of nowhere), I can end up dealing with 3 or 4 different days/times because each city/town/village has a different one. Not that I get many trick or treaters here but I always want to be prepared.
