Hello friends.
Here are my WIP's for this month.
First up is Antique Birds and Angel
by Quaint Rose Needle Arts.
Day 2 had me 3/4 of the first bird completed.
I did change the called for DMC 310 (black)
for Gentle Arts Raven.
Raven is a blackish green which I thought
would look better with the DMC 500 green.
Day 3
Start on the flowers at the top and then
work down to the bird on the right.
Or I may work halfway and then start the angel.
Will see once I get there.
Day 4
once completed.
Day 5
Took me one day to stitch this pinkish flower
and the greens below it and to the right side.
Lots of confetti stitching.
So glad it is finished.
Even though it took one day to complete
that huge flower.
Also this sampler has no alphabets.
I am toying with the idea of adding
in my own letters at the bottom.
Will see when I come to that part.
One more thing...when I say
this has taken me 5 days thus far...
this is my Sunday stitch only.
Last month I had finally finished
most of the upper half.
I began stitching on the vase.
I only stitch on Saturdays with this pattern.
Am almost finished with the vase,
but not a lot accomplished in this past month.
Too much going on these past few Saturdays.
This is where I am at with the whole piece now.
I think it will be more fun for me once I get
to that big ole house and motifs.
Next up Strawberry Faire.
As you know I HATED doing this
big strawberry.
I finally figured out there was a pattern to it,
and started stitching all of the squares.
In other news,
Bob has out patient surgery today
to take out the loop they put in
to check on A-fib when he had his stroke
almost three years ago.
Well our insurance company was going
to start charging for it, and Bob said
no frickin' way....well that's not
what he told me but you get the gist.
They have NEVER detected A-fib,
so his doctor agreed it was not necessary
to keep it in.
Michael goes to the doctor this week.
Hopefully he can return to work.
He is the one who joined us in Frankenmuth.
He was wearing a boot on his foot,
which has to wear when going out.
His tailbone is getting better and he can
sit longer now.
I got spoofed yesterday by someone claiming
to be my bank telling me I had fraudulent charges.
Clue #1 Phone number not a toll free one.
Clue# 2 They had only my 4 digit information
and wanted more.
Clue #3 Transferred me to someone else and
said they had to to clear up my credit report.
Clue #4 The new person told me I had
red violations on my credit report and the only
way to remove them would be to close out
all of my open accounts and then they could
re-open them with half the balances at zero
percent interest.
After that lie I was done.
I yelled at the guy telling him I would not
be closing out my accounts and hung up on him.
As a banker myself...NEVER give out
any information to anyone.
Your bank would never transfer you to
another company, nor would they want you
to give out your personal information.
Scammers want you to be nervous so you
will give them the information they need.
Please do not be fooled.
You can always call your bank to verify
anything suspicious, which is what I did
after hanging up on the guy.
The bank that supposedly was calling me
was not the same bank I work for.
I have accounts with a different bank,
because my bank has no branches in my
home town area.
Don't Get Spoofed Blessings To All!

I have caller ID so unless I'm familiar with a name I don't answer. Amazing the amount of calls and emails I receive weekly which I'm sure are scams. And the email addresses change even when the name is the same. Sadly some folks fall for that crap.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching looks great. I can see why you're happy to have that strawberry done!
ReplyDeleteThese people trying to scam people are the worst.
I hope Bob's procedure goes well!
Hi, I love that dang strawberry. :-)
ReplyDeleteI do not like all this scam crap!!
Sending a hug for Bob.
Carla
Good advice! Thank you
ReplyDeleteToo many folks don’t pay attention to info like that. Sorry you got spoofed.
Beautiful stitching. Going through stuff, I pulled out a transfer sheet to embroider. After seeing your work, I’m thinking a sampler design would be more fun than a single motif. Your strawberry sparkles!

Your cross stitch pieces are intense. They are going to be so beautiful when completed. I used to cross stitch, but my eyes couldn't see those little holes so well any more. And the cost of framing has sky rocketed. I'm glad you didn't fall for the scam. Sometimes I let them explain it to me several times, they think I'm dumb. I end up saying go scam someone else. And abruptly the call ends.
ReplyDeleteThat first sampler is stunning. I think the change from the stark black of 310 was a great idea. I am still amazed how quickly you stitch...even if only one day a week.
ReplyDeleteScammers are despicable. Almost daily I get emails that I have been charged hundreds of dollars for something I didn't buy or they need updated information...so click here. Instead I click DELETE!
Good luck to Bob today and prayers for a speedy recovery.
Your samplers are very complicated and intricate and consequently, even more beautiful for all that. Good news for Bob having that out.
ReplyDeleteI adore that sampler! You do such good work.
ReplyDeleteI’m suspicious by nature but my husband has fallen for a couple and fortunately he did finally figure it out. We don’t answer our house phone - every call that comes in says “spam” on it. I keep meaning to just cancel it. We don’t answer our have all our regular contacts on a special ring so that helps but really, most calls come to our cell phones.
Thanks for the tip. They are quite sophisticated in their spoofing methods and are always upping their game.
I love seeing your stitches! The strawberry is pretty cool looking too-hugs
ReplyDeleteSo many scams out there.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with Bob's procedure.
You stitchery is coming a long nicely.
I am surprised you went that far on the phone call - they had your four digit number?
ReplyDeleteI hope your son gets back to work.
With Bob was it that device they put in to avoid you having strokes - I forgot the number.
I like your strawberries!
I am continually to be completely amazed by how quickly you stitch as well...Seriously? You have that much done in 5 Sundays??? I wouldn't have that much done in a MONTH of Sundays!!! I really love that pattern. The birds get me every time. Great progress on the other pieces as well. I'm so sick of the spams, scams and sheisters... I keep my landline because my cell reception is so sketchy here but never answer it anymore since everything is spam. And the emails and texts are relentless. I currently have an issue with charges on my credit card I didn't make but I can't call my cc company b/c my cell provider has been hacked and there's been no service (incoming/outgoing texts, calls, vm's, etc.) and since my "landline" is through the same provider, it's no help either. I am really ready to pull the plug on all technology and tell them to send the pony express if anyone needs to hear from me... (and be patient with those ponies if they're waiting to hear from me). Grrr.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is lovely. You stitch pretty fast I do wish I had the eyes to do that I used to when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteHusband got call asking if he got his new Medicare card. I answered his phone. I told them shame on you for trying to scam people they hung up lol.
