Friday Finish

Good morning friends.
Today I have 2 finishes to share.

Saltbox 1 where I began.

Adding in the second story.

Finished to look like an ole timey polaroid photo.
Stitching in all that white was time consuming,
but no counting except for the number of rows
at the bottom.
Mindless stitching.

Saltbox 2 where I started.

Started the border before finishing
the background this time.

Again mindless stitching of all that white.
I ended up using the entire skein of
called for snowball for these two pieces.

Got them back from Hobby Lobby.
I did not take them out of their wrapping.

Will put these away for next year...
but at least they are completed now.
I opted for ready made frames.
These are approx. 6 x 9.
Debbie is always so wonderful to work with.
She knows my style and found these for me.
Did change out the glass for a conservation
one but not museum glass that I use for those
stitched pieces that are for my heritage wall.

Hopefully I can start the Summer Saltboxes
soon and get them framed for next year too.
I had purchased all of the seasons years ago,
and finally am getting around to trying to
stitch them all this year.

In other news,
I am off today.
Will be heading to my mom's and then we are
off to Frankenmuth, MI
which is called Little Bavaria.
Meeting my daughter Michele and Mikayla
my granddaughter for a girls night.
Will eat dinner at the Bavarian Inn.
It is a family style all you can eat dinner
with breaded chicken and all of the fixins.
Stollen bread and jam of the month is included.
Ice cream for dessert.
I always enjoy the bean salad and cranberry sauce.
Plus the chicken noodle soup is delish.
Then we come back and us kids will take mom
out to dinner for Mother's Day.
She will stay with us until Monday and I will take
her back home.
I took Monday off too for a mini vacation.

Well off to do some laundry before I head out.

I hope all the Mother's out there have a
FANTASTIC
MOTHER'S DAY!

Pre Mother's Day Blessings To All!

  9. Your saltbox finishes are wonderful! But you have more restraint than I to not take the plastic wrapping off. Your mother's day outing sounds fantastic. Four generations together to celebrate. Wow!! So blessed you are! Enjoy!!
