Holly Love

Good evening sweet blogging friends.
Who wants to join
Earlene (Primitive Passion Decorating)
in Florida? I do
Well that's where my blogging friend is right now.
She left our sweet state of Michigan at the right time.
It is 5 degrees and snowing here now.
Our poor furnace has been running way too much.
Which means we will probably have a way big gas bill. UGH
We decided to close off our back room and hibernate
in out front room tonight and lit a fire in the fireplace.

Lately I have been creating snowmen and items
for St Valentines.
Which got me to thinking...
why not add a bit of both Winter and Valentine's together,
So I creating a bit of love and Holly.

Dyed my linen and stitched the word love using one strand of floss.

The holly berries and leaves are wool that I stitched to the linen.

Now I must decide how to finish this.

I grunged up some holly fabric.
What do you think?
A Pillow or a wall hanging?

I wanted to show you how I made my berries...
so using gold wool, here goes.
I cut a strip like the one above.

Then I cut the strip into squares...no measuring,
so they are not all perfect.
After all prim is not perfect.

Then I round off the edges into circles.
Really easy peasy.
Hopefully you were able to see my pics easy.
I have a problem taking close ups with my camera.
Crafty creator I am..photographer I am not.

Holly Love Blessings To All!
Janice

  2. Terrible weather, isn't it? But it is January...after last year's winter, nothing surprises me! We were supposed to be in Florida for the entire month of February....but family issues kept us in this frozen tundra! Love your holly design! I'm so hoping to make it to your shop soon!!

  4. Hi Janice!
What a pretty design - I make my cuttings by hand with no pattern same as you - I do like the primitive look.
This whole country seems to be in a deep freeze but if we all have warm homes to snuggle in it's okay (well, like you said, the high heating bills and they will come!).

  6. Hello there Janice... It's cold here too, but so much nicer than last year. We already are two months ahead of all that snow and freezing cold. I LoVe being on the inside looking out in winter , enjoying all the gorgeous birds at the feeder. This year we are honoured to have two male and two female cardinals living out spruce trees. Never had that before. Their gorgeous red is so striking against the white snow. I know my kids would say " mom , get a life" and share a laugh about my goings on with the birds. But I take pleasure in the simple things in life, and life itself. Good for Earlene to get away and enjoy the warmer climate.
    Have a great weekend ...
    Hugs Marg.
