Another recent purchase.
This one purchased from a friend.
This sampler.
I do not know how old it is,
but do know it is a Spanish one.
(Sorry for the glare in these pics)
For the cross stitcher sleuths out there;
if you can tell me about this piece it would
be appreciated.
The best close up view I could get without a big glare.
Am not sure if it is an antique or someone just
stitched this from a recent pattern.
My Spring display underneath.
No daffodils outside, but I can enjoy
these faux ones inside.
In other news,
one day of work...4 days left.
I am working from home today...
and doing nothing but checking what
little emails I may get...yesterday I had none.
Wednesday will work in the office as my
retirement party starts at noon that day.
Working from home then again on Thursday.
Friday have to go into the office
one last time to turn in my computer and cell.
Then its off to the sunset...WOOHOO!
Driving home yesterday through the marsh,
I saw many mallards and one heron...
my first of the year.
Spring must surely be here now.
It even reached 70 degrees yesterday.
Well off to turn on my computer and stitch. LOL
There wont be any emails...as I have no customers
now since my portfolio was moved out of name already.
The Countdown Begins Blessings To All!

How exciting! It sounds like maybe your last days will be simply being available for any questions that might pop up? Though since you were out of office for a while, those should have been covered already it seems.
ReplyDeleteI get the sense you are enjoying your retirement already, lol. Am positive you will enjoy each and every day after the last visit to the office. One warning tho...you will not know whether it is a weekday or weekend from that day forward. As every day will feel like a holiday.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great countdown!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful new piece.
It hit 70 here too yesterday, cooler today with storms, but Spring seems to be here!
I am so happy for you-sadly when I retired most everyone was off that day for my retirement party-Larry planned a small surprise for with a few friends at our homemade pizza place.
ReplyDeleteThose daffodils look so real-I love them
Haven’t a clue about the sampler. Must say I have never seen a Spanish sampler. All the borders are most unusual.
ReplyDeleteLike Saundra alluded to, it is hard to know what day of the week it is!
Well, I feel you are really looking forward to this and have for a long time. I do hope it turns out to be everything you dreamed of. Is the computer you are turning off your work one - Hope you have one at home!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you. I can feel your excitement.
ReplyDeleteI love your spring display with the pretty yellow daffodils.
ReplyDeleteOh…. You are so close to the end of a season! Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you!!! Tell us about your party, do you have a meal?
ReplyDeleteAt my husbands employment, they have a chicken dinner with salads and a cake for the employees and for the one who is retiring. It has been a nice way to say goodbye to those retiring. In the past year he has had many retire. Now he is getting to be one of the old guys. Hee Hee!
That is such a pretty sampler. Only 4 days left? How exciting for you! Have a wonderful retirement party! 70 degrees is such a pleasant temperature. We have already seen 100 in temps in March and in the high 90s these days. Wishing you a blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about your retirement. You know we'll all want to hear about your party!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your retirement party.......and then your retirement! Congratulations. How pleasant 70 degrees sounds! We have already had 100 temp days in March. Wishing you a blessed Easter
ReplyDeleteWooo hooo retirement just around the corner. Your new piece is lovely I hope you figure out all about it.

Enjoy your last farewell tomorrow my friend! I'm sure you'll be missed - and, at times, and in ways, you, too, will miss it. (But not as you will enjoy it!) That sampler is lovely. I'd like to inspect it in person. I can make out a few words like "sirme" ("serve me") and "ano de" ("year of") but others baffle me..."Astasia," as far as I know, refers to an inability to stand upright?? But, like I said...would need to see it more clearly. Looks pretty pristine to be antique but perhaps vintage?
