This is what I call my
unconventional Christmas colors.
Lots of orange, yellow and blue for this room.
A paper angel on top of this fabric tree.
Teddies and more children's shoes.
Sitting in here has a calming effect for me.
This mustard Child's chair use to be the one
Michael sat in when he was little.
Am loving my heritage wall now
especially here at Christmas.
My sister liked it too and wondered
how I got some of these to look so old.
Told her it was the fabric (linen) choice.
Remember the ornaments I painted.
Here they are on another fabric tree.
My friend Ruth made both fabric trees for me.
In addition to the redware, I included
white and tan chenille candy canes that I made,
gold bulbs, tan/white mittens & pears.
This chenille Santa star on top.
I placed two wreaths inside my trencher.
Added Santa in the middle,
then two fabric pears I had sewn up
inside each wreath.
This Santa was holding a cake crock,
so I added two more cake crocks to
the left of this display.
The mustard child's chair use to be
the one Mikayla would sit it
when she visited gramma.
Bob made the tree from an old door.
Tobacco sticks all around.
He sold quite a few at the store a few years ago...
in all sizes and even some painted in green.
Sorry about my Ott lamp being in the way.
This is where I stitch.
In other news,
yesterday morning I started my drive into work
with snow, then sleet, then freezing rain and then rain
by the time I pulled into the parking lot.
When I left it was the same thing except vice versa.
It finally stopped snowing.
More to come today they say.
Welcome to Winter in Michigan.
Bob told me before I left work that it was
52 and sunny at our house.
I told him it must be in his dream.
Also yesterday when I came home there was
a strange car in my driveway.
I stopped my car in the street and walked up
to it and the person said-
"are you the homeowner?"
I said "yes" and "who are you?"
He was the township building inspector.
He needed to inspect our privacy fence
we put up in August.
A little late I said to him...he replied that they
were behind on inspections.
I told him he sure picked a fine time to go out.
Anyway the fence was fine and passed.
Again thank you to all who comment
on my Christmas tour posts.
I still have a few more.
Keeping Up With Christmas Blessings To All!

Oh, those roads are terrible. I know you have far to go to work, so I hope you are very careful. Meanwhile, I say all colors are Christmas colors! And yours are beautiful. The Teddy bear reminds me of my Steiff bear I've had since I was about four. I love it dearly! I often think which of my bears I would take with me when I move in a few years (can't take them all!) and that one is always at the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite Christmas corner of all! That candle stand!! Alllllll the prim details! You are very talented, Janice!
ReplyDeleteI love this room! Your orange and yellow theme really works. That Santa picture is awesome. I enjoyed every photo!
ReplyDeleteThis weather is yuck, Everything was closed around us yesterday. I'm hoping things are better today as I have some driving to do. We will see!
It's like looking through the pages of a magazine. Those shoes interest me - can't help but wonder the places they've seen as well as the children who wore them. Fascinating.
ReplyDeleteYour home, staging, collections are all magazine worthy.
ReplyDeleteI love absolutely everything in this room. For being a Christmas junkie, I must be the only person without an Arnett Santa 🤣🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteSimple, yet beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is all beautiful. I really like the touches of fruit in the decor.
ReplyDeleteCold, cold is setting in here. Negative temps to be our high the next few days. YUCK!
I have to ask you how much time you devote to all those decorations and where you keep them? It is like you have a new house every time.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the weather - that makes the heat here in the summer more bearable. lol
