Well the yearly antique trail
came and went.
This is only the second time in
the 23 years it has been going on
that I missed it.
The first time I vended instead of shopped.
I hated every minute not being out there shopping.
This time it did not feel right going
with out my sidekick in the passenger seat.
AKA MOM.
A few folks new about my mom's situation.
These three amazing ladies let me shop
their early bird sale.
(they dont usually have early bird sales)
I think it was God who might of told them
I needed a break.
All I know is they were a godsend to me.
I was able to visit them a few days ahead
of the trail weekend.
First place I shopped.
This adorable small wool teddy
with original cardstock flag bowtie.
He will be perfect next year
in one of my Americana displays.
Just a wonderful bunny mold.
Finally another antique bunny mold.
Me loves my bunnies.
Second stop.
This bee skep.
It is not old, but I would like
Bob to make me a wood bee skep
holder next year so I can display this outside
in the Summer months.
Original bee skeps would have had
a hole in them for the bees.
Gotta love an Arnett Santa.
This one is holding a cake crock.
Santa's coat is gold so will be perfect
for my untraditional Christmas look.
Next up is this flax hank.
It is the fiber that makes our linens.
For some reason am getting back into pewter.
This plate was calling me.
Finally this antique Americana parade hat.
Next year one of my teddies will be sporting it
on its head.
Ooops I did buy one more crock jug.
Forgot to take a pic of it.
I will make sure to let you know what it
was in my Autumn display posts.
Finally my third stop.
This vintage drum.
Loved the graphics on this.
It included the drumsticks.
This Americana pillow.
Final piece was this handmade
wood quilt block made by my friend.
Had to come home with me.
It was screaming Autumn
with the colors of dark brown, tan and cream.
I want to give a big shout out to
Tracy, Sara and Ruth.
You ladies made my day.
In other news,
mom is losing blood again.
Her hemoglobin is down to 8.0.
They are testing her every other day now.
They are thinking about do an endoscopy test,
however she wants none of it.
It is her choice.
They also now put her on oxygen at night.
Bob and I went to see her last night.
She was very quiet.
Obviously something is on her mind.
The good news is she was able to take
one step with the help of the therapist.
Mikayla's first night at MSU (college)
was not what she expected.
Her and her roommate went to movie night.
Her roommate ditched her and she freaked
out trying to find her way back to her dorm.
She got back around 11:00pm.
I would have freaked out too.
Glad she is alright.
Nice to be able to sleep with the widows
at night these past few days.
Off to work now.
Antique Blessings To All!
Janice

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your mom is still losing blood. So hard to not get answers on that.
Poor Mikayla. I hope her room mate doesn't act like that all year.
So sorry about your mom I hope things turn around for her soon.
ReplyDeleteYou purchased some lovely things. Speaking from experience your bee skep will not weather well I love them but the weather is hard on them and they do not stand up to it..
