Happy Happy Thursday
to all of my dear sweet blogging friends.
Almost the weekend. LOL
As you know, we were suppose to finish our kitchen,
and well that money went towards my car
to help my son.
It was the right thing to do.
Anyways, now that meant postponing
finishing our kitchen.
Oh well, life happens.
I still decided to redo the one window.
Bob bought these drop cloth paint floor step runners.
Two for $20.00 at the Big Lot store in the city.
Woohoo!!
Yep, if anyone guessed, I made curtains from these.
They are an off white and feel wonderful.
Really, I wish you could feel them right now.
This was my before pic.
A hodge podge for sure.
My mom had made me the bottom curtains for my other house.
I just stuck them there and added some store bought valances,
when I bought this house.
I placed the tin sign for some privacy.
Our houses are close here by the river.
Fortunately I get along with the majority of the 50 neighbors.
We have the best neighborhood!
So here I am going off on a little tangent. Sorry about that.
Back to the window.
All I did was sew a pocket at the top for the rod to go through.
Then I bought this vintage screen print sign.
Honey Krust was a bread company.
This was hand painted right onto the screen.
This was hand painted right onto the screen.
I added muslin to the back for privacy.
Now for the after picture.
Now for the after picture.
Moved our settle bench and table from the living room.
Switched out the red dry sink to the hall and moved the blue one in.
How just a little change can make a big difference.
What do you all think?
Curtain Blessings To All!

That is awesome, Janice! I so love them! I was thinking about sewing feed sacks together, but, um, I need to collect about 9 more! Cheap ones! But, I might try this! Did you tea or coffee stain them at all or leave them the color they were. I bet they feel wonderful! You are so clever! Everything looks beautiful, dear!
ReplyDeleteHugs and love!

ReplyDeleteHi Janice, love the curtains, your home is so cozy, Francine.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks wonderful! See you in a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us about the curtains, I have been thinking about how I need to do something with my doorwall. I love moving furniture around too, keeping your favorite things but having a totally different look. Shadow is sweet unless he bites.
