Drysinks For The Holidays

Hope everyone is enjoying the pics thus far.
Today's display is on our drysinks
by the front door and hall area.

This is one of my antique feather trees.

This year I added my antique spun cotton fruit.
Maybe Santa will get me a few more tis year.

Another elf for the kids to find.

The lid lifts up for when someone would have
cleaned their dishes.
This is why it is called a drysink.
One would clean their dishes with a rag...no water.

Below is a feather basket, pantry box
and a blue bucket.

Now for the opposite side.
A daylight pic with the sun peeking in.

Do you spot another elf?

I do realize I took this pic now before my tree
was completely trimmed.
So sorry about that.
It is is just trimmed in homespun ornaments this year.
A simple one.

Santa decided to go into the pipe holder...
instead of the chimney. [wink wink ]

In other news,
I had not heard they were
getting rid of Windows 10.
My newest computer has that program on it.
Will need to check with the Geek Squad
when I go there.
Will let you know then Saundra.

I am on vacation starting December 18th
thru the New Year.
Looking forward to it and will be unwinding.

Yesterday morning my drive into work
was both rainy and foggy.
Not the best conditions for driving in the dark.
Hopefully it will be better this morning.
Well off to get ready.

Christmas Mantles

 Goof morning friends.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

Today's post is our two mantles.

First our living room one.

The blanket is an old linsey woolsey.

Next our keeping room one.

I wanted a woodland effect here.

I so love sitting in here at night.
The electric heater keeps us warm
and also has the sound of a crackling fire.

In other news,
went grocery shopping yesterday for our
holiday meal.
We will be hosting my family this Saturday
for Christmas this year since my brother cannot.

Made beef stew last night for dinner.
It was really good I must say.
We have enough for lunch today.

Made an appt to take my computers in.
Will be downloading files and stuff from
the old one into the new one soon.
Hope all goes smooth.
Having the Geek Squad do it from Best Buy.

Well off to make Bob and I some breakfast.

Sunday Blessings To All!

Living Room Part 2

Part two of our living room.
Hope you are enjoying the pics.

The silver ornaments on this tree
are all vintage and antique.
I think the blue might be a reflection from
our window on the opposite side of the room...
unless its one of our ghosts...

This is an antique feather tree with antique garland.

So Bob sends me a pic of this child's sleigh
wanting to know if I wanted it.
{Sandy this is the one Bob told you about}
He bought it from a pick he went on one day.
At the time I said no as I did not
have a covered porch to put it on.
Well then a few days later I went to the store...
had Bob put it back in his van,
and here it now is filled will faux poinsettias.
I wrapped some olive leaf garland in the front,
and draped a runner on the handle.
It also seems that Tundra left some hair too.
He is shedding big time.

A bowl full of fabric and faux fruit,
with a bit of greens mixed in.

Close up of the feather tree.

Well then Bob brings home this one red ornament
for my birthday.
I had the other two in a bowl....so added them
to the silver tree.

This is the Santa he bought me.

This one and the next one I already had.

Both are vintage.

We sold both this Belsnickle Santa and the
lil bottlebrush tree on a wooden spool at the store.
I snagged these ones.

Finally this lil grouping of vintage
bottle brush trees, my rabbits and another
Belsnickle Santa peeking at you.

In other news,
we went out to our monthly dinner
with our friends last evening.
Italian this time.
Both Bob and I had just pizza and salad.
Then we went to their new house
they just purchased on the river.
This house is over 100 years old.
They are fellow antique lovers.
Their new home is starting to feel
like Christmas too with their vintage vibe.

Am not feeling the best right now.
I called in sick earlier and have been laying
on the couch since 3 this morning.
Going back to lay down again.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

Weekend Blessings To All!

Living Room Part 1

Welcome to our Christmas living room.
Part One.

We found this huge Santa at
an antique flea market years ago.
We also have the sleigh...but I have no
room for both.
If my memory serves me right,
I believe Cathy you have this fella too.

A lil display on this dough box.

I bought this vintage Santa down in Florida one year.

I know Robin you like this horse too.

We sold these wood pictures in the store
a few years ago and I decided to keep
this one of Santa.

I love my red faux poinsettias.
This one is tucked inside a grain measure.
Wrapped a red coverlet piece around it.

In other news,
Thank you all for the birthday wishes.
Bob and I went out for dinner.
While I am sure not everyone likes sushi,
we do.
We went to a new one.
It was nice that some of the sushi rolls
were named after a few towns in our area.
They even had one named a Michigan roll.
Also it is a Japanese hibachi place,
so we would like to go back and try that one day.

We are expecting 2-4 inches of snow later today.
Not as bad as some spots in our state which
got 24 inches on Black Friday.
The roads were a mess North and West of us.
We were spared.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Guest Room

Today's pics are from our guest room.
I only decorated half the room this year.
The other half has my computer,
stitchy project bags, wool and stuffing.
It is so packed that I cannot even open
the closet door currently.
Cannot wait to turn part of our
laundry room into a craft one.

This is the red and white quilt from our room.
It is much heavier.
My mom stayed a few days for Thanksgiving.
She noticed there were a few holes in it.
I did tell her it had character.
I also had another comforter under this one,
so she was warm.
I also have extra blankets if she needs.

Santa seems to be here already though.
He left his long johns.  LOL

Back in the 90's I sold these Santas.
Kept one for myself.
I need to adjust his beard though. LOL

In other news,
Debby asked if our home had ever been
featured in a magazine.
Well Debbie the editor of one
prim magazine asked for pictures.
I sent them to her.
She then came to our home and took
more pictures.
This was back in 2019.
We had a photoshoot scheduled,
but the photographer was blocked from
coming into the US from Canada.
He was not allowed to come into the
country for some reason
which was never told to me.
Then covid hit and I have not heard
from them since.

Today Bob and I will be going out to dinner.
It is my 66th birthday.
I should have taken the day off,
but will work part of the day and then
we will head out to do a bit of shopping,
then go out to eat.

Be My Guest Blessings To All!
