The Young Whipper Snapper

Hello my friends.

Today is my young
whipper snapper mom's birthday.
She is 91 one years old today.
This pic was taken of her at the therapy place
a few weeks ago.

Yesterday she had zero pain
in her shoulder.
This is good.
They drew more blood and we are
waiting on the results of the hemoglobin.
Hopefully is it going up or staying the same.

I ordered flowers to be delivered
to her today.
Bob bought me a little
carrot cake for one.
I will give it to her when I visit later
after work today.
Bob called me to see if I wanted candles too.
I said "NO'.
He forgot there is a sign on the
front door saying oxygen in use.
That's my Bob. LOL

Any hoot
Happy Birthday Mom!

In other news,
Mikayla came home for the weekend.
We went to dinner with her,
my daughter and grandson Saturday night.
She once again had an incident
in her dorm.
This time a young man was taken
by ambulance for cutting himself
all up and down his arms.
Always something at that college.
She has only 4 classes and one of those
is an online class.
She currently has
Algebra
Writing
Archeology
Forensic Science
She goes to class one hour a day for 3 days.
2 hours a day for two days.
So the cost of tuition is through the roof,
and she goes to class a total
of 7 hours a week. EGAD
No wonder this younger generation
does not want to work a 40 hr week.

Michael was cleared finally to go back to work.
He still does not have a car....
so he drives Mikayla's as she could not
take it to college.
At least he can get around now til
he saves up to purchase another one.

Well off to work.
Hope everyone is enjoying their week thus far,
Its been above temps so far here in Michigan.

Birthday Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Happy happy day to your mom - she looks lovely! Flowers and carrot cake will be a hit - enjoy celebrating! Oh my - I’m so sorry to hear about college - my son is in his last year and so far no issues like your granddaughter has been experiencing, but still I worry. I can’t imagine the stress/bullying/fill in the blank that would lead to that despair. It’s good she came home to get away, even for a little while, I think just being home is a huge help - going back filled with TLC and some great home cooking!

  2. Your mom is a beauty! And at 91! Fantastic she has no pain today and hope it stays that way. Praying for good blood levels. Is Mikayla taking a full credit load this year? Sure seems skimpy to the matriculated classes I saw years past.

I'm sorry your granddaughter has had so much craziness at school in this short time, I do hope things settle down for her.
And poor Michael, that whole situation still makes me mad!

  4. Your mom is a beauty. God bless her. I do hope her hemoglobin levels improve. I hope her 91st birthday is a blessing to her and that she feels the all the love. 💕
My goodness, Mikayla’s college dorm experiences sure has been troubling. Sounds like a lot of mental health issues going on with these young people. Oh Lord, help them! 🙏🏻
Good to hear Michael has been cleared to go back to work. I hope he can get a car of his own but it’s good he can use Mikayla’s for the time being.
Wow just so much happening with your loved ones. Take care, Janice.

  5. I'm so glad Michael can be cleared for work. Happy birthday wishes to your mom. I hope that nerve block holds in there for a long time and the hemoglobin goes up. College kids are having a really rough time these days. I feel for Mikayla.

  6. Happy birthday to your mother - that is so awesome. I sure do miss mine. Glad Michael is cleared for work. Mikayla - I almost hate that she is going to college with all that going on - but I am sure she has a firm foundation.

  8. Your mom looks terrific for 91! Happiest of birthdays 🥳
Seven hours of actual class time? Holy hell that is one expensive education especially when you factor in the cost of housing and food in addition to tuition 😡
    Yeah for Michael!!M

  9. Good news regarding both your mum and Michael...not so much for Mikayla. :-( Happy, happy, birthday to your lovely mom. Her smile lights up that whole room. I can't wrap my head around any of what's going on at Mikayla's university - the mental health issues and the number of classes and class time. What the heck?? It's going to take a heck of a long time to get enough credits to graduate at that rate...unless they've changed those requirements as well. Continuing to keep you - and everyone in your circle - in my thoughts and prayers.
