Whippy Wednesday

Hello friends.
Here is my progress on my WIP's
for this month.

Antique Birds and Angel
Day 6

I decided to go down and work on the angel.

Her face was suppose to be a yellow.
Everything in this angel
is yellow, except the banner,
so I opted to make her face a peach color.
I wanted it to stand out.
Plus it does look like the photo.

This angel is suppose to be stitched
in all silk...but because I changed up
her face, that was stitched in cotton.
I have never stitched with silk before.
At first it was hard to get use to.
Slippery...but once I got the hang of it,
it glides through the linen.
Since silk is more expensive,
these are the only ones I have purchased.

Day 7

Stitched more of the wing.
This is tedious stitching with lots of counting.
Decided to do the yellow first and now working
on the gold.

Day 8

Finished the left wing and most
of her upper gown.
Almost outlined the right wing.

Day 9
I finished the right wing.
Started stitching the peach banner on the right.
Also stitched in the sash on the left.

This angel is getting monotonous.
Only two colors in the angel herself.
Gold and yellow.
At least now the banner will be another
color I can stitch.

For Strawberry House I opted to go
with the blue as the called for parchment
you could not see on this fabric.
I think it turned out pretty good.
I told Bob it was my Big Beautiful Blue House.

Am getting into July 4th mode now.
This is where I left off last year stitching
on Patriotic Pinwheel Parade.
Next to Christmas, I believe I have more
patriotic decor than any other month right now.
Plus the majority of my antiques are in
old red or blue paint which is so fitting
with this holiday.

I managed to get two more bunnies stitched.
That flag at the top is a beast to stitch....
just very long.

Also started adding the pinwheel border underneath.
This pattern is so cute!
Plus I love bunnies.

Next up is Blueskin.

Started this last year and this is where I left off.

I have one more cherry to finish...
then onto the bowl to finish this
bowl of cherries.
Am getting tired of doing these.
I want to get to the horse.
I did change the flag from gray to blue.

Finally Sarah Casey Unwin.
I finished the big basket this past month.

Also the basket of the fruit,
the bird and then started the border underneath.
I do see now that I forgot to finish the one
red flower to the left of the fruit basket.

This is not even half way completed.
I stitch this on Saturdays when I can.
Am starting to feel I am getting
something accomplished on this one.

In other news,
Monday night Bob's daughter took us
both out for a steak dinner to celebrate
Father's Day.
It was so nice of her to include me.

We might get some severe weather come
in later this afternoon.
Am hoping we just get rain though...
we do need it.

The chipmucks have moved on.
I did see one the other day in the yard,
but they are gone from our window box.
On the other hand, I did see a juvenile
groundhog go into our wood pile.
Tundra saw him too and tried
 his best to get him.

My mom forgot my brother's birthday
which was on Monday.
He ended up calling her that night.
Asked her if she no longer liked him.
Then he said do you know what month it is?
She said June.
He then asked what day it was.
She said the 15th.
He said wrong...its the 16th.
She said  well I sent you a birthday card.
They both laughed then.

Need to get my butt to work now.
240 days to retirement...but who's counting. LOL

Hump Day Blessings To All!
Janice

  5. I’ve always loved that pinwheel parade - such patience for those tiny stitches, I could never do it! Thanks so much for the info on the lidded crock-I may go back today to look at it, pretty sure I found your Facebook page-oh the beautiful yellow-ware bowls! Enjoy the week, steak dinner sounds fabulous!

  6. Oh my! Antique birds and angels. Unbelievable. Just incredible. Loving the bunnies and the 1776 pillow too. I can relate to your mom's dilemma. After retirement you may feel the same! A calendar is only needed for doc appointments!

Brother's comment to mom made me chuckle.
