With Summer here now,
I wanted to start on more Summer and Patriotic.
Summer Saltboxes by Plum Street Samplers.
Am doing this on 28 ct Wheat linen.
The same linen I did Spring Saltboxes on.
Finished all of the white at the bottom,
and managed to get one of the sheep stitched.
There were 2 different whites in the sheep.
Not sure if you can tell from my pic.
Once these are both completed,
will get them framed like the Spring ones.
by Little Robin Designs.
Doing this on 36 ct antique white linen.
Floss in the color of Americana by
Weeks Dye Works which was not the called for blue.
Am really getting into Patriotic stitching.
In other news,
Sandie from Chatty Crone asked
how many hours do I stitch a week.
Roughly around 20 hours.
She also wondered why I was counting
my days to retirement when I own
an antique store.
We do own an antique store.
Hubby Bob works the store.
I work for a major bank
as a commercial loan officer.
Once I retire I can tell you the bank I work for.
Also when I do retire, I will work our store
a few days a week...unless we sell it by then.
We do have it for sale.
She also wondered if I worry about my mom.
Yes I worry about her since she lives
1 1/2 hours away.
We do have family we can call that
live in the same town if we need to.
Each of my siblings and I have a dedicated
day in which we call her now.
Robin from Cranky Crow asked what
linen I am using on Blueskin.
Am using 28 ct Vellum.
I purchased mine from 123 Stitch.
In fact just put another order in for it
because I want to stitch Nelson on this
same linen.
Will frame both once completed.
Probably not for years at the rate I am going.
Have not picked up Blueskin since my last post.
Blueskin is much bigger than these ones I started now.
Mary from Windy Meadows Farm
thought she found our stores Facebook page
with the yellowware post.
I had to ask Bob because I do not have Facebook.
He does the Facebook for our store.
Yes you found the right one he said.
For anyone else who would like to follow us
on Facebook, just click the badge on the right.
It will take you to our store.
I did not even know we had more
yellowware in there.
We have 25 dealers in our store.
I need to visit more often. LOL
Also, I would love to go antiquing with you Mary.
It would be fun!
Everyone in the heat wave, please stay safe.
Even though we are by the water...it is still
hot here too.
Yesterday morning I came out of the grocery store.
Lightning struck really close to me.
Then the thunder.
Pushing a metal cart, I then ran to my car.
Loaded my groceries in and high-tailed
it outta there.
Usually I put my cart back in its place,
but not this time.
Off to make breakfast for Bob and I.
French Toast and Breakfast Sausage.
Happy Summer Blessings To All!
Janice
I love your patriotic stitches! The saltbox stitches will be great with your Spring ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check out your FB link and follow the store.
That lightening strike would have made me pee my pants I think. It was horrible being inside the house when a couple years ago the lightening strike was just outside the house. It welded together the wires in the electrical box, blew out all the GFI's and burned a few electronic items.
ReplyDeleteI heard about the big heat wave coming - ugh! 🥵. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
ReplyDeleteOh you find the best cross stitch patterns!
ReplyDeleteWorking full time, how in the world do you find 20 hours to stitch? I probably don’t find half that time to hook and I am retired! WTH??? You need to offer a class in time management to slackers like me 🤷♀️
I completely agree with Lauren... Yikes, I'm lucky to average 1hr/night and there's always at least 1 or 2 days I don't get any stitching in if I've been gone all day with appts, etc. I do have an "issue" with stitching or hooking during the day though...I was brought up hearing that if there's daylight to be had, there's work to be done. Now, don't get me wrong...I do NOT work from sunrise to sundown...I just feel enormously guilty doing "fun" things like stitching, hooking, reading, etc. so they all are pushed to the evening hours. Great pattern choices - I have the Little Liberties one and am always a sucker for Plum Street designs. Stay cool...I had a major meltdown here yesterday when my a/c not only didn't work but actually blew hot air out without regard to what the thermostat was set at. ARGH!
