It's Berry Season

Hello friends!
With strawberry season in full swing,
here are my strawberry displays for this year.
Hope you enjoy.

In other news,
the Cottonwood trees are
currently shedding around here now.
It's like having snow on the ground
in June.

Saundra asked from my previous post
if my pillows were bowl filler size.
Yes they are, but Bob says it is silly
to make such little pillows.
Even if I did manage to stitch
a pillow that was big enough to use...
there would be no way.
It would take forever and I don't want
it ruined on the couch with Tundra around.

Mikayla is now a graduate.
There were 465 students in her
graduation class.
It took forever for them to get through
all of the names.
Sunday it was so hot and steamy too.
We were almost at the top of the bleachers
outside on the school's football field.
After almost 2 hours I was not feeling
the best and decided we should leave.
The ceremony was not yet over but we did
see Mikayla get her diploma.

I was able to chat with Michael.
He was still not cleared to go back to work.
Now that the swelling has gone down,
it was discovered he has a ruptured disc.
His doctor is hoping because he is young,
this will start healing on it's own.
Otherwise he will need surgery.
He goes back to the doctor in a month.
His foot remains in a boot.

Well have to get to work.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Berry Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Your strawberry displays look lovely. Wow, what a huge graduating class. Think there were 60 in my graduation class of 1959.

  3. You always have it looking so cute! The cottonwood are shedding here too. Crazy how far those fuzzies blow.
Congratulations to Mikayla. That was a long time to sit on bleachers.
I'm so sorry that Michael has to go through all this.

  4. Those strawberries are so cute! We've had a few humid days too but today is just lovely and worth spending as much time outdoors as possible! That's a good size graduation class but when I graduated, we had one thousand in our class! Plus, my maiden name started with an A so waiting for the final kiddo whose name had a Z in it was torture! Plus, it was indoors and hot! But we were tough back in the day! Ha! Enjoy the day and I may just have to go get some fresh berries from the Amish today!

  5. Those strawberries are adorable. It’s past strawberries for my area - too hot. Ours usually harvest in April. So now they truck them over from the coast (Salinas Valley)
Congratulations to Mikayla and I really feel for Michael on the ruptured discs. I had ruptured mine about 20 years ago. L-3 and L4. I pretty much live with the pain but I’m used to it. The medication they wanted me to be on made me sick so Excercise helps. I sure hope he won’t have any lasting effect.

  6. Those strawberries are so cute, but a lot of work. I had strawberries for breakfast. Congratulations to Mikayla - that is a lot of names to go through. I feel so bad for Michael. I hope he can heal on his own!

  10. Loving all of your berries! But your stitched ones are especially precious. Congrats, again, to Mikayla but, personally, I think graduation ceremonies are torture LOL. And now they are doing it for kindergarten, grade-schools, etc. (I'm not fond of the latter traditions - these celebrations seem to detract from the importance of the higher achievements (high school, college, etc.). Anyways!). Poor Michael. Yikes...it seems like every time he sees the dr, they find a new issue. Hope he heals fully soon. (Funny, I can't remember exactly how many were in my graduation class - and I was the editor of our yearbook LOL)

  11. I love all the strawberries. We use to go strawberry picking at a local pick your own strawberry patch, but it closed, because they could not find help.
Send congratulations to Mikayla. And hugs for Michael.
