Cozy Autumn Keeping Room

 As we gear into Autumn,
am loving the colors that are
associated with this season.
Having a prim home,
the colors just pop everywhere.
Hope you enjoy these pics
from our keeping room.

In other news,
when I went outside...
which I do every day...
this finally started blooming
on October 16th.

This sky blue morning glory
is suppose to bloom all Summer.
Mine decided to just bloom now.
Bad thing is we are supposed
to have frost in the next few days...
so it's days are numbered now...

I was under the weather just before the weekend.
Just felt like you know what.
Thursday I laid on the couch
in our keeping room, and fell asleep
with the fireplace on.
When Bob came home later,
I told him he needed to turn the furnace on.
I needed to get the chill out of the house.
Friday the same thing.
Am better now.

Today Bob wants me to get my Christmas totes
out of the garage.
He wants to do it before the snow starts flying.
Its only the end of October,
but I will comply because he may not help
me if I wait. LOL
Told him if I had an attic, I would not
need his help.
Crickets.
He added in insulation to our whole
attic from floor to ceiling...
so now I need my totes in the garage..
I tell him its his fault.
Now he wants to build a shed,
for my totes.
This just means he needs more room
in the garage which is full already.
Plus we have a full storage unit.
Again I will comply today.
I may be the queen of our house.
He is the king of the garage.

Hope everyone is enjoying these
Autumn days.

Cozy Autumn Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. I finally caved and turned on my heat too, albeit rather low temp but it takes the chill off a little and I wear turtlenecks and sweats. Well, the King does trump the Queen, lol.

  2. Yes the colors of fall really let our primitives shine. Yours always do! I understand this storage thing better than most. I'm laughing at king of garage!!!

  3. Lovely, Janice. It's like going back into time.
I have always found the blue morning glories to be hardy. I used to grow them year round on my fence. Of course you live in the north but maybe with such a hot summer, it just stunted their blooming? Who knows?
I liked your comment about Queen of the House and King of the Garage. We have that here, too! 👑

  4. Good morning, I am still holding off on turning on the heat-as we are warming up more now each day, we have sunshine too-but it is chilly in the mornings. I want to have the furnace cleaned and checked before I turn it on too-which I set up for end of this month. I enjoy seeing the displays in your home-feel better hugs

  5. I love your keeping room!
Our morning glories were very slow to bloom this year, but we did get about a month from them. We've already had a frost last week.
We've also had the heat on several times. :)
    Glad you are feeling better.

  7. We finally turned on the heat. 60de in the house is too chilly for me! This week the weather is picture perfect even though the mornings start out cold the temps rise nicely to the 60's by noon. I love all your pretty things in the keeping room. You're right, the colors pop! This month is flying by and up in your neck of the woods the snow does fly earlier so I understand your hubby wanting to get things done ahead of that. Have a good rest of the week.

  8. I tried to grow blue morning glories, but I did not do too well.
I do love your keeping room.

  9. Bob may be kind of the garage, but you're the queen not only of the house, but prims and primitive displays. I just can't even wrap my head around thinking about Christmas yet. Yikes. I've not even put up all the Halloween I want to yet. (Note: Not "ALL" the Halloween...just all what I want to this year. I've reconciled with myself that there simply isn't room (or energy) for ALL my Halloween every year. (Unfortunately, I have a large rambling basement...and three garages...and make every bit of use of them.)

  10. Hi Janice, I am a new follower. I loved your pictures. Everything looks so cozy! I am sorry to hear you were feeling under the weather. I live now in Georgia, but used to grow morning glories when we lived in California. They are so beautiful I am glad yours finally bloomed. My husband Tony and I , along with my MIL live in a rural area on 5 acres in south eastern Georgia. I love to knit and crochet and especially enjoy making toys. I just restarted my blog this month and have really enjoyed jumping in and meeting so many nice people. I hope you have a lovely day and I look forward to reading more of your posts in the future! :)

  12. The way time goes so fast these days, Christmas will be here before you know it. It's kind of cute that Bob is getting in the Christmas spirit already. You're lucky that he's offering to help you. Your own little storage shed will be perfect.
    Take care,
    Hugs,
    Julia

  15. Always enjoy your house photos. A shed sounds like a great idea. Seems the more room we find, the more stuff we find to fill it !
