Sunday Starts

Cannot believe it is almost
 mid October already
Where has the year gone?

For my October starts,
decided on these.
First Oswald by Notforgotten Farm.

I actually got this much completed
in one evening of stitching.

He is going to be adorable!

With limited time for stitching,
I decided on just a few smalls.
This pattern is called Slightly Spooky
by Little Robin Designs.
Am hoping I can get all three
completed this month.

I started on this one first.
Figured if I did the black one first,
it would be outta the way for the others.
I finished the row of kitties
plus the top border in one evening.
Will stitch all three on
32ct Steel linen by Fiber On A Whim.
This linen is gray in color
with green undertones.
I wanted a more spookier fabric color
than stitching on a white like
the pattern called for.
Am happy thus far.

Well I changed my mind and decided
to start all three.

I stitched the top border of BOO & these ghosts
looked sad to me.

Even Bob could not see they were ghosts.
Back to the drawing board.
Started again with a darker orange.

The third pattern is Oct 31st.
This is my one evening start on this one.

Day 2 of Evening stitching.
Taking one evening to stitch one pattern.
That was a total of 3 nights worth of stitching.

Day 2 I was only able to get
 the one EEK word accomplished

Day 2 for Boo.
I first had to frog out all of that other orange.
Then had to re-stitch.
At least I can tell these are ghosts now.

Day 2 working on Oct 31.
One ghost and another pumpkin.

In other news,
my mom had a follow up appt.
with her surgeon on Friday.
He told her he had to do a
reverse shoulder replacement surgery.
Her shoulder was broke in several
places with many bone fragments,
She is now in the early stages of healing.
It will take anywhere from 4 months
to a year to completely heal now.

At least my sister has now stepped up.
She will take care of mom when she
gets released from therapy.
The days she needs to work late,
my brother will go and stay with my mom.
He lives 10 minutes from my sister.
She called me and said that I had taken
care of mom before and it was their turn.

Even though the covid restrictions
are not lifted until Thursday...
I did stay and visit with my mom
for an hour yesterday.
No one kicked me out and there were
a few that saw me in her room.

Well of to find me some breakfast.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Mid October Blessings To All!

Whippy Wednesday

 It's that time again where
 I show my stitching progress.

I so love the animal characters in this piece.

I finished the log cabin.

Am almost to the finish line with this one.
This is the only one I have been
stitching on nightly after
taking care of mom.

Feniscowles Hall is my next WIP.
I chose Poblano Pepper and Mint Jubilee
for that massive grass.

For the house am using
Baking Tin and Onyx.

Plus DMC 413

Am loving my progress thus far.
If you remember I chose all my own colors
for this sampler.
Am loving my choices.
This sampler is my Sunday stitch.

Finally,
Sarah Casey Unwin

Started on this massive red house.

From this pic you can see I have
a long long way to go.

Once finished it will
be a great accomplishment.
I only work on Saturdays for this piece
when I have the time.

Finally with Halloween coming up,
I brought this pattern back out
which I started last year.

I currently stitched the tombstone
and the cat on top.
Continued the border on the right
to the top.
Not sure if will be finished this month,
but will continue to stitch when I can.
Once again I chose my own floss colors
for this pattern.

In other news,
we finally got some rain yesterday.
Its been so long that I do not even
remember the last time we had some.

Monday morning driving to work,
the harvest moon was in its full glory.
The way the clouds were forming around
that moon, it looked like the head of
a bald eagle and the moon was its eye.
It was so cool looking.

Yesterday I went to see my mom.
At the entrance of the rehab place
a chipmunk came up to me with
his cheeks full of food.
He was so tame and just walked past me.
Wish I had my phone to take a pic,
but left my purse in my car.
Bob came with me, however he did
not come in due to the covid situation.
Since covid hit,
my mom has not had therapy.
We are again worried she may
stop walking again.
We dont need her to go backwards.

Heigh Ho
Its off to work I go.
128 days to go until retirement.

Yellows

This year I divided up my
Autumn decor by color.
Orange was in our Keeping Room,
while I chose drieds, yellow & browns
 for our Living Room.
Lots of pics.

I really wanted to fill this tree with my acorns...
alas not enough time.

This was a pattern from Homespun Prims
which I purchased and stitched years ago.
I think next year I may make it into a pouch.

I use to subscribe to a Plastic Canvas
magazine. This pattern was in it.
At the time I wanted to frame it,
but never got around to it.
This was completed in the 80's sometime.

The drieds on the horse are cow peas.
They were once more purple.

Stitched and framed this last year.

The dried yarrow came form my mom's garden....
gosh probably 10 years now.
She no longer has it as the deer ate it all.
Each year it seems to get browner
instead of the yellow color it once was.

In other news,
driving thru the marsh the other day,
a heron was flying right beside my car.
I slowed down to keep pace with it.
It was pretty cool and wish I could have
taken a video of it.
Speaking of herons and egrets...
both are still here.
They are usually Southbound by now.
Very strange.

Also my mom had a nice birthday.
My cousins came and brought her flowers.
Both my sister and I sent her flowers.
My brother gave her a cupcake.
Bob also bought her a small round 1 serving
carrot cake.
It was so funny, because I stayed there
that night til she was finished with her dinner.
I asked her if she wanted me to open the cake.
"NO" she says... I had too many sweets already
with my dinner.
She had a small cup of apricots.
So I then tell her goodbye.
I was down the hall and forgot to take her
clothes to wash.
Get back into her room and she is trying
to open the cake container.
BUSTED.
LOL
I asked her if she need help,
so I opened it for her.

I went Thursday to take her phone back.
Had to get minutes put on it for her.
Her entire ward is closed due to
someone having covid.
They let me in only because I just
dropped her phone off and left.
She knew why I could not stay.
UGH

I have to go back this morning
to take her clothes.
Hope they let me back in.

Well off to do that in a bit.
Have a wonderful weekend my friends.

Yellow Hued Blessings To All!
