I finally finished my third sampler
for my heritage wall.
This was the pattern by Blue Ribbon Designs
called Little Quakeresque.
I just added all of my
great grandfathers names & information
amongst the rows of motifs.
My maternal great grandfathers first,
then my paternal ones.
I chose this frame because I felt it
somewhat mimicked
the motifs in the sampler.
Even the framer said this was a great choice.
Here it is up on my Heritage wall.
Then above it I hung the sampler I stitched
with mine and Bob's information.
Two up now. WOOHOO!
The first sampler I stitched is the one on the left.
It will stay here until I decide where to hang it.
The second one from the left is my Valentine stitch,
but I still kept it out because the colors looked pretty.
A little bit of Autumn tucked in...
...here and there.
My tribute rug to Peepers our cat watching over us.
A few dusktime pics.
Am loving my progress thus far.
My next one I am stitching is
Laura Vorgensen, and it will be a long one.
Little Quakeresque took me 6 months,
and Laura is much bigger.
Much bigger.
Oh well...I knew this was not going to be
an overnight process.
Will continue to stitch away.
At least I have something to show for now.
In other news,
Bob and I caught a bug from his aunt
who came in from Vegas.
We went and visited her and she gave it
to everyone who saw her.
UGH
Not much else going on.
Just still plugging away on the
last block of
Halloween At Hawk Run Hollow.
This is a full coverage one...
and when I mean full coverage...
the entire block is stitched.
Will be glad to put this one to bed.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
Any plans?
Heritage Blessings To All!
Janice
Your sampler corner is looking so good.
ReplyDeleteThe grandfather tribute stitchery must have warmed your mother's heart and agree the frame is perfect! What a beautiful memorial for your Peepers.
ReplyDeleteThat one lookks like it took a long while. It looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI really like your newest sampler. The frame looks very old - sorry you’ve been under the weather. Tis the season, isn’t it?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, Janice.
I am sorry you got sick - hope it is not covid. Your wall with all your needlepoint is awesome. And you will have a big one to do over winter.
ReplyDeleteJanice....I could not love this sampler more!! Absolutely GORGEOUS! And the personalization is just perfection...as is that frame!!! Who is your framer?? We have no professional framers here other than Michaels and Hobby Lobby and, frankly, their frame selections are sorely lacking. So very sorry to hear about Bob and wishing him a speedy recovery. No concrete plans here...tentatively, the well guys may come tomorrow... The secondary well is apparently yet the latest casualty from The Great Storm of 2024. Ugh. I truly am almost ready to give up. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry... I came back to take another peek at your finish and reread your post and realized that you, too, had gotten the bug. Ugh. Hope you BOTH are feeling better by now. ~Robin~
DeleteWell done... it all looks so good together. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour needlework is beautiful. Lots of work goes into one.
ReplyDeleteThat sampler is simply gorgeous and that frame!!! Magnificent.
ReplyDeleteHope you and Bob are feeling better.
I have enjoyed watching your progress on that sampler and it turned out so pretty. The frame is perfect!
ReplyDeleteSorry you got that bug. Hope it's gone quickly!
We didn't do the Tunnel of Trees this time. This was the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive near Sleeping Bear Dunes.
So sorry you caught a bug hope you are both on the mend.
ReplyDeleteYou pieces are so lovely I just do not have the eyes for it any more.
Cathy
I love seeing your samplers framed and hung-you are pretty fast with these-and they look difficult to stitch to me. happy weekend
ReplyDeleteYour samplers are sure a work of love and art. What a great tribute to your family. I'm sorry you both got that bug that's been going around. Jack had it and still is coughing but feeling better. Hopefully I'll not get it! Happy Fall days to you!
ReplyDeleteLove the samplers and wall hanging in your corner. Looks wonderfull, you never disappoint. Sorry you caught a bug. Hubby and I caught one and it started to ease up at week 2,week 3 is better. I think it is the heat that hangs on. Hope your bug leaves soon.
ReplyDeleteThe final stitching piece is lovely. What a tribute to your family tree. And the corner looks perfect for fall. Hope you’re feeling better, put your feet up this weekend and try to relax a bit.
