Friday Finish

Hello friends!
Today I only have one finish.
It is a fully finished piece though.

This was  a pattern by Blueberry Ridge Designs
called House On Pear Hill.

Once again the colors
were more muted than the photo.

At first I was not happy with the colors.
However the more I stitched on it,
I started to fall in love with this.
Glad I did since the floss in this was
all specialty ones.
It would have been more expensive if
I had changed them up.

It fit a normal 8x10 frame so that was good.
Less expensive than having to order one.
The frame was also on sale. Another win.
I did add museum glass to it.
Debby at Hobby Lobby said
it was another great piece.

In other news,
have you ever heard that if you find a penny
in your house, that an angel came to visit you?
Well the other day I found one.
Then Bob found three of them in our store.
I am thinking it was my dad.
Bob thinks it was his dad, as he often
came to the store to visit Bob
before he passed last year at this time.

Yesterday morning it was snowing pretty good.
Tundra loved it.
Then the rain came in and it all melted.

So last night we drove up the river an hour
to make an appointment at Best Buy
to take in my computer.
Twice I called the store and it routed to India.
Could not understand either of them.
So we drove up to make the appt with the Geek Squad.
It was nice at our house,
but the closer we got to the store...
the darker the sky got.
The biggest snowflakes and rain was coming down.
It was getting quite slick when we got out
of the store.
We were going to eat in that town,
but decided to drive closer to home.
Glad we did as the sloppy mess ended closer to home.

Ok, now for the good stuff.
The winner of my lil snowman is
Donna.

Congrats to Donna and also a big thanks
for all that commented.
Your comments were all so very special.
Donna, please email me your contact info at
primsbythewater@yahoo.com
I will have Bob mail it out to you next week.

Well hope everyone has a great weekend!

Friday Blessings To All!

  1. I've not heard that about finding pennies.
I love your finished piece and the colors too!
It was snowing and yucky on this side of the state too.

  2. I often find coins, mostly pennies, in parking lots of or inside grocery stores on the floor. I always say 'thank you' to my mother because she and I both agreed we'd pick up a penny even if it was face down.
    Congrats Donna.

  7. Congrats to Donna!! And thank you, Janice, for the giveaway opportunity. A beautiful finish...but, yes, wow...the colors on the model are very different than the actual. Glad you're pleased with them though...I would be too as they look like muted/softened older ones. I have always been told that finding pennies in your "personal" spaces means someone from the other side is sending you a message....not necessarily an angel though. ;-) We had some flurrying going on here and a bit stuck for a while. Happy Friyay! ~Robin~

  8. I still find pennies in my house but it's because pennies are no longer in circulation here in Canada. My husband would leave them in little containers, here and there as they added weight to his coin holder.

Your House on Pear Hill looks lovely. You finished that quickly.
No snow yet here but lots of rain. I'll take rain over snow.
    Take care, Hugs.

  9. We got a bit of snow (woke to it) but it was gone by late morning. I heard the Detroit area (or east side) got more and it sounds like you did! I find pennies all the time. I must have loads of angels hanging about. I like that thought!

  13. Happy almost Thanksgiving Janice! Your stitching is lovely as always! We had snow also but it wasn't as bad as some areas. North of us near the Lake and Cleveland got 6in! I never heard of the angel penny theory but I love it and will think of it every time I find a penny. We find white feathers often and attribute it to my nephew who passed at age 18 in 2004. It's comforting to think we have loved ones who know what we're doing and things that bring their memory to us. Have wonderful Thanksgiving!
