The Stepback Story

Good evening sweet friends.
So this past weekend I worked on some more
Halloween kitties.
Cut them out on Saturday and sewed them up.
Stuffed them on Sunday.
Then it happened.
Monday I was in lots of pain after therapy.
My PT (physical therapist)
scolded me and said if I was going to keep
using my left arm so much,
then she was going to put me in a sling.
Y I K E S
I was in trouble.
So I put away my gray kitties for awhile.

I keep looking at them...
and they keep telling me they want to have their
faces sewn on...but I need to walk away.

In other news.
Since I am featuring our stepback cupboard,
I wanted to tell you a little story of what Bob did.

The definition of a stepback for those that don't know.
It is a piece of furniture whose upper section
is further back than the lower one forming a shelf
in between which looks like a step.
They can be one piece like mine is or two.

This story happened oh 9 or 10 years ago now.

We were changing things up in our space
at the store.

My mom had given us some glass to sell.

I had placed it all nice on the stepback that we were
selling at the store the month prior to us changing things up.

Well we decided to move the stepback around.

Before I could stop Bob...

He started to move that stepback,
with all of the glass still in it.
He forgot this particular stepback came in two pieces.
Glass went everywhere when he tried to move it.
We lost it all.......
to this day, I will not let Bob touch glass
when I am around anyway. LOL

Do you know of someone who is a bull in a china shop
like my Bob is?

Stepback Story Blessings To All!

  5. Janice, thank-you for sharing the story about what a setback cabinet means. I have seen them but did not know much about them. Poor,Bob! I bet he was horrified after the glass all fell and broke. Lessons learned the hard way!
So sorry your shoulder/arm was giving you fits again. It is hard to know sometimes that a simple use will end up being painful and a set back. It is equally hard to just sit and do nothing when you are used to being busy with projects too. I totally understand!! Hopefully more rest and therapy will do the trick and soon those adorable kitties will no longer be blind!! LOL!!

    Have a nice weekend!

  7. show us the kitties when you can. My windmill kitty that you make hangs over my computer and Walker (my cat) hates it. He has tried every way to knock it off. Hope you heal quickly. I am so tired of cold weather too.
