Hello all my friends out there.
Today I wanted to share with you two new finishes.
This will be a short post.
I did finish the Summer Saltboxes
and recently got them back from
Hobby Lobby where I have them
frame all of my pieces.
Debbie does an awesome job.
This is the left one.
Once you look at the flag on the second one,
you will see why.
These sheep are adorable.
However I always love a good horse.
I did stitch all of that white at the bottom
for both.
It is suppose to look like
an old Polaroid picture.
I have seen where some folks dont stitch it...
but I wanted to.
In other news,
Monday Bob did get a new truck.
This was the first one on the lot he saw.
We took it for a test drive and it came home.
His van was no longer viable for him
to use as a work one.
It had almost 200,000 miles on it.
The back doors would no longer open...
not good when you need to put things inside.
Then it needed new tires and the transmission
was going on it.
So he is a happy camper now.
Yesterday was the first day for
my mom's estate sale.
Most of her furniture went
except for the one bedroom set (she has 3 bedrooms),
the couch, loveseat and recliner are still there.
Not sure if these will sell because
they were original to when my parents
built the house in 1990.
My mom NEVER bought anything new
since moving in...except for new
living room curtains which she replaced
only once and a she had to have a new
microwave.
All that money stashed and she could have
bought herself something new.
Also yesterday my brother sent me this pic.
A tree fell on his house with
the high winds we had.
His neighbor called him at work and he left
immediately.
He arrived to having the fire department
on his roof accessing the damage.
Thankfully no roof damage.
The city also was there because my brother
called them a zillion times to have this
tree removed...which they did not...
so guess what...they are going to pay
for any damage done once they
have the tree removed.
Tonight the First Nation Canadian's
hold their annual Summer Solstice fireworks.
They set them off right across the river from us.
We always have a front line view and enjoy
watching them.
Well hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Friday Is Here Blessings To All!
Janice

Hello Friend,
ReplyDeleteI like the old Polaroid look.
Bob will enjoy his new ride. :-)
Gosh, your poor brother, I am happy to read the city will help and is held responsible.
Have fun watching the fireworks.

Thankfully no roof damage from the tree. Where I live, the city does not take care of trees on the tree lawn. It is the homeowner’s responsibility.
ReplyDeleteHopefully lots more will sell at mom’s sale!
I love the framing. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice truck!! Oh what a miracle he didn’t hurt his roof!
I also like a good horse. Your brother is lucky indeed, both for no damage and no expense in tree removal. Hope you get more sales of mom's stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh I really like the two stiches with the framing. I really like the look of the saltbox houses. There is one, near where I grew up that looked so pretty next to the pacific ocean.
ReplyDeleteTrees falling on houses is scary and I'm glad the city will pay for it. Our trees are on our property and we check them but when we have big wind events you never know. But I love the big tall trees so I know we're taking a risk.
Oh, and nice truck!
Nice truck! My nephew found the truck he wanted but it had an eight foot bed. One the lot, it didn't look that long .... but once home, holy crap! Can't park in any space, back out of the driveway, was not expecting it to be this bad! Crew cab too. Surprised there is no roof damage.
ReplyDeleteNice truck!! So lucky that there was no roof damage from the tree falling on the house. Good that the city will be for it!!
ReplyDeleteYour two newest framed pieces look so nice, Janice! That IS a lot of white stitching, but I love how they turned out. So scary about the tree... I'm glad the city will be paying for the clean-up. We are in the process of getting bids for a huge tree that is only a few feet from our garage. I hate to lose it, but just don't want to worry any longer about the "what-ifs"). Enjoy that truck--that would be my husband's dream :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad there wasn't any (hopefully, none hidden) damage on your brother's house. Good for the City coming out -- FINALLY. That had to be awful. It sounds like the sale is going well and I hope it continues. Both your new finishes are very nice!
ReplyDeleteSorry a bout your brother's house. Your Summer Saltboxes look great including the frame.
