Hello friends!
Today I want to show you a few
new cross stitch starts.
First is Sweetheart Pears.
Doing these on a Rose linen with
gray flosses.
My next start is 1776
Finished Liberty.
Finished Justice.
My start on 1776.
This should not take very long at all.
My favorite of the three.
Finally I decided to start a new sampler.
This one is called Faith by
Samplers Not Forgotten.
I chose the called for linen
which is 36ct Pewter and the called
for overdyed flosses.
The saying is what drew me to this sampler.
"The best and most beautiful things
in the world cannot be seen or even
touched. They must be felt
with the heart."
In other news,
well tomorrow starts by 6 week sabbatical.
I cleaned out my desk.
Brought all of my trophies throughout
the years home with me.
Brought my name tag home too.
Shredded all the paperwork
I would no longer need.
When I go back to work that final week...
it will be just to sit around and talk...
not something I am use to doing at work.
Tomorrow we are taking my brother
out for dinner.
He seems to be handling things pretty well.
I call him every other day just to chat
He will be going back to work soon, so that
will be good for him.
Before dinner,
Bob and I are headed out to visit
with our CPA to have our taxes done.
Then headed to the meat market to stock
up on meat for the month.
Then need to go to our township
to pay both our Winter house taxes
plus the water bill.
It will be nice spending time with Bob now
when he does not work the store.
Dinner tonight will be roast beef au jus
sub sandwiches with melted provolone,
along with twice baked potato.
Last night I made bbq chicken tacos.
We had margaritas with those.
A Valentine dinner just for the two of us.
We did not want to go out with all of the crowds.
Hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day.
Post V Day Blessings To all!
Janice

Good morning love seeing your stitch projects-and congrats on the process retiring-I was soooo thankful when I could at last retire with no more very long drives to and from work. You will love it-hugs
ReplyDeleteI really like the 1776 set, perfect for this year!
ReplyDeleteHooray for making it to the sabbatical. I'm very happy for you.
I brought my desk name home with me when I retired too. Was just looking at it the other day.
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations! I love the patriotic set! 250 years this year. Our little town of Ringle will be 125 years - big celebration planned. Sounds like a lovely Valentine's meal! We don't like crowds either.
ReplyDeleteYou are a voracious stitcher! The Annie B pears are sweet - I don't think I've seen them before. I'm not a pink person but the grey flosses sure look beautiful with your chosen linen. I've had the Little Robin patriotic designs since they came out...haven't stitched any of them yet. There are so many patriotic designs out there I want to do. Wow...a whole week of walking around talking to people? I don't think I'd have that much to say to my co-workers and I DEFINITELY know none of my employers would have allowed an employee chit-chatting with other employees and keeping other employees from their work LOL. The menus and eatings at your house sound AMAZING!!! YUM!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitchery projects.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your brother is doing okay.
I love the color of your linen you are working with on the pear cross stitch! All of your cross stitch projects are so pretty! Enjoy more stitching time with your retirement!
ReplyDeleteHope your brother continues to do well. Oh.......tax time........I am always so glad to get that over with! Your valentine dinner together sounds perfect!
As always, your sampler and work is so beautiful! Talented!!! Your dinner sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love Liberty, Justice and 1776!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the start of almost retirement!
Congratulations on your retirement - I wish you all the best!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll like retirement... I didn't, at first, but I got the hang of it.
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna

This sounds like such a cozy and satisfying day! 🌟
ReplyDeletePaying the winter house taxes and water bill might not be thrilling, but spending time with Bob when he’s free sounds lovely — a nice little break in the routine.
And dinner! Roast beef au jus, sub sandwiches with melted provolone, and twice-baked potatoes… wow, that’s a feast. You’ve got the perfect mix of comfort food and a touch of indulgence. Makes me wish I were at your table! 😄🍽️

The sabbatical sounds terrific. What a feeling, bringing home things from the office. Lots of fun dining, too. I'm glad you were there for your brother. You remind me -- I need to get going on my taxes.
ReplyDeleteYou are so very talented! Are you retiring after the sabbatical and then the one week back?
