Hello my friends.
When last I showed you Mary Jane Kerr,
this is where I left off.
This pattern I was stitching in remembrance
of my grandmothers.
This was the top of the sampler.
I replaced the bird with the chicken.
Changed the flowers from purple to blue.
Kept the dog the same but chose my own colors.
Once again had it framed at Hobby Lobby.
However this time did have to go back
a second time.
Did not like how it was laced...
lots of highs and lows and just not straight.
When I went back two days later,
it was then messed up at the bottom.
Since I live almost an hour away,
I asked the girl if she could fix it while I was there.
It was not Debbie whom I usually work with.
She obliged with no hesitation...
and agreed it was not good.
After about 20 minutes, it was perfect to me.
I even made it a point to tell
the store manager that I love the framers.
It now resides on my cupboard and I
finally hung Mary Catherine
This one was for my maternal grandparents
with their parents.
It is at the top second to right.
On to the finishing Viola Martini,
which will be for all of my great grandmothers.
Am already planning on my next one
Just have to order the floss, as I have
the pattern and linen already to go.
In other news,
Thursday we woke up to snow once again.
Spring showers are suppose to be rain...
not snow. EGAD Mother Nature.
Tundra was just loving it though.
He was laying on the ground taking it all in.
Bob finally made him come in.
He was a very wet dog...and when Tundra
came in I told him it was daddy's fault he
ruined your fun in the snow. LOL
I am on vacation next week.
Looking forward to some relaxation...
sleeping in a bit and not having
to get up before the birds do.
Michael's MRI did not reveal anything wrong.
His doctor said he most likely broke his tailbone.
It will have to heal on its own.
He goes back to his doctors next Friday.
He is hoping they release him to go back to work.
Believe it or not he is stir crazy at home,
He wants to get out.
A big thank you to everyone who wished him well.
I have the best blogging friends.
One more thing.
The bunny from my last post was a pattern
from My Primitive Saltbox.
She use to have a blog years ago,
where she sold her patterns.
You can find her now on Etsy,
however the patterns are now PDF.
Well have to get to work.
Hope everyone has a marvelous weekend.
No More Snow Blessings To All!
Janice
This is very handsome and I love your simple black framing which shows it off so well. I'm glad Michael is doing better. I hope he can ease into work. Not sure what he does but that has to be pretty uncomfortable and whether he has to stand all day or sit all day, I could see challenges either way. Enjoy your vacation!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so well and I think it's a great honor to your grandparents that you did these.
ReplyDeleteAaagh - so sick of snow! I'm afraid it will suddenly change and be hot with no nice period of time between.
Poor Michael, a broken tailbone is miserable. Praying he is soon feeling better and can get out more.
I love seeing your finished stitches-loving your grandparents corner. glad you husband is on the mends those take time to heal too-hoping he does not overdo.
ReplyDeleteI saw on the forecast this morning that the east coast has more snow coming in for the next two weeks-ugh hope it misses you hugs Kathy
Wonderful finish! How cool you know all your ancestors.
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for Michael.
Enjoy your vacation. You will probably accomplish miracles ;-)
Your crossstitch are such treasures and good framers are important. Glad it worked out. Ouch on the broken tail bone. Awful. Makes my skin crawl, thinking of that pain. Poor Michael. I wish him a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteWonderful way you finished it and had patience with the store to re-do. I am glad your son feels like he wants to get out and move a bit. I hope he gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is beautiful. You did a great job. Glad it was finally framed correctly.
ReplyDeleteSounds painful for Michael!!
Enjoy your time off.
Your Mary Jane "great grandmothers" sampler turned out wonderfully! I like all your personalizations with motifs, colors, and names. It will be a wonderful addition to your ancestor wall/corner. Can't wait to see what your next one is. I am truly impressed that your Hobby Lobby actually laces cross stitch pieces. Ours here only pins. :-( Your grandson has my empathy...I had early onset on spinal arthritis and was told it was due to trauma from a fall and most likely a broken tailbone. I remember too well when I fell on ice as a child and could hardly walk or sit for weeks. Pretty sure that is when it happened. Who knew it would lead to arthritis later. Enjoy your time off!! You'll probably have another finish for us when your time off is finished. LOL
ReplyDeleteI Love the chicken! Beautiful work!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your Michael is healing well!!
Happy weekend!
hugs
Donna
I am happy to hear Michael is healing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy our time off ... hopefully you will have wonderful TRUE SPRING days to enjoy.

Glad to hear Michael is getting better, but a broken tailbone doesn't sound like any fun. Prayers his continued healing goes by fast and smoothly. Your stitcheries are beautiful. You have been a busy gal for sure. The bunny from the last post was adorable and I didn't even get into the shop to purchase one. Have a blessed pre Easter week.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. Good thing you went back and asked them to do it again.
