Guest Room

Today's pics are from our guest room.
I only decorated half the room this year.
The other half has my computer,
stitchy project bags, wool and stuffing.
It is so packed that I cannot even open
the closet door currently.
Cannot wait to turn part of our
laundry room into a craft one.

This is the red and white quilt from our room.
It is much heavier.
My mom stayed a few days for Thanksgiving.
She noticed there were a few holes in it.
I did tell her it had character.
I also had another comforter under this one,
so she was warm.
I also have extra blankets if she needs.

Santa seems to be here already though.
He left his long johns.  LOL

Back in the 90's I sold these Santas.
Kept one for myself.
I need to adjust his beard though. LOL

In other news,
Debby asked if our home had ever been
featured in a magazine.
Well Debbie the editor of one
prim magazine asked for pictures.
I sent them to her.
She then came to our home and took
more pictures.
This was back in 2019.
We had a photoshoot scheduled,
but the photographer was blocked from
coming into the US from Canada.
He was not allowed to come into the
country for some reason
which was never told to me.
Then covid hit and I have not heard
from them since.

Today Bob and I will be going out to dinner.
It is my 66th birthday.
I should have taken the day off,
but will work part of the day and then
we will head out to do a bit of shopping,
then go out to eat.

Be My Guest Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Happy Birthday Janice! Hope your day goes well with no cranky customers! :)
I love your guest room and think it would be a privilege to stay in it. The red and white quilt is beautiful. I think your home does need to be featured in a magazine. It's too bad covid messed it up.

Your house is looking so festive. It looks wonderful. I love those red longjohns. Me? I've only put up the Christmasy shower curtain.

  4. You should try again with the magazine. It's so cheery -- I'd be a happy visitor. The quilt on the bed looks exactly like the one on mine this season! I'll post photos eventually!

  5. Sorry I have been missing this week - I have been in Ohio visiting my son and his family for Thanksgiving. Let me tell you that 17 degrees in Ohio is a lot colder than 17 degrees in GA. It was brutal.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU AND MANY MORE!
I love the Santa room and that was so sweet how you take care of your mother.

  6. Happiest of birthday wishes to you! I hope the day is good to you even if you have to work part of it. The after-work activities sound fun though. Great festive touches in the guest room...I COVET that horse!!!! (But I think you knew that already.) The longjohns brought back memories of when I hosted Christmas Eve for my family and my nieces and nephews were young. I always had a pair hanging on the outside of the door of my loft bedroom and they couldn't wait to get here to see if Santa had stopped by for a nap. ~Robin~

  7. Happy Birthday to you!! A December birthday too... my birthday is the 12th.
Sorry about the magazine shoot, I do think COVID ruined so many things. Our son was a senior in 2020... oh my, don't get me started on all that he missed out for his last year of high school.

  8. I know you’re probably busy but it would be nice if you contacted that magazine again. It’s possible the editor and the photographer no longer work there - it would be good for your antique business!

Happy Birthday Janice! Today is my husband’s birthday. It’s been a few years, since I was 66.

I have a couple of quilts from my grandma. I think in January I will get them out to display. Not in the bed because of the dog and cat. They were pieced together at least 60 years ago or longer and have little holes and tears and I agree, that it adds character.
