Stars and Stripes Forever

Hello friends!
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
All I can say is that it is HOT HOT HOT
and humid here.
We are trying to minimize our air usage so as not
be part of any brown outages here.

Today I show you my fabric stars.

One of my hooked houses.
The man for those who do not know
is my paternal grandmother's father.
My great grandpa Robert.

The stripes in this post is this patriotic ribbon.

I loved how the sun peeking in casted
this shadow.

Although because of the sun you cannot
see the coverlet underneath the horse,
this is an up close pic of it.
It is a repro but I still love it!

Update on Bob.
He remains the same thus far.
Feels fine in the morning and tired by afternoon.
He is complaining now so I know he must
be getting better a bit. LOL

Stay cool my friends!

Stars And Stripes Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. I'm glad Bob is hanging in and even complaining (annoying as it may be!). It's a good sign. I love the simple ribbon on the horse and your stars.

  2. Love the horse pull toy and cannot remember if you've said it was a repro or old. Nice hooked house.
Am also pleased Bob is getting better and he probably will be tired in the afternoon for a while because that setback was no minor deal.

  3. Hello,
The same here, brownouts.. so we are keeping our home cool, but trying to be careful about how much energy we use just like you.
I continue to pray for Bob.
    Love, Carla

  4. Yes, 90 degrees now (7:15 PM) and oh-so humid. These are the days that make me dislike summer! Love your colors, my favorites no matter the season, and yes, if there's grumbling, Bob does feel better...that's terrific! Take care of yourselves. Mary

  5. What a lovely post! I love the title, "Stars and Stripes Forever."
You are so fortunate to have the old photograph of your great grandfather. I also love the coverlet.

  6. Your home is always so lovely. Sending healing prayers for your husband. stay cool we are the hottest we have been this summer we are high 80s with humidity. Not my favorite weather. we a couple of window units we haven't even put in this year. With the price of electricity, I am not convinced it is worth it yet maybe if this continues.
