Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

 Good morning friends!

I should have been a decorator.
I so love changing up our Gift Shop.
My Santa tree has red and white lights,
red mittens, Santa images and other items.

We have a huge front window,
and decided to have Santa
 in the window this year.

So sorry these pics are a bit dark.
Unfortunately I cannot redo, as items have sold.
(a good thing)

The large pillows on the left read
"Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal"
This saying comes from a movie
that I am sure most have seen.
Home Alone.

Another pillow and stockings.

Fun Santa's!

Pewter Santa's on the shelf.
Belsnickle ones on the bottom shelf.

More Belsnickle Santa's
and a sleigh.
Again so sorry for the dark pic.

Fun bottlebrush trees on a wood spool
wrapped in red & white baker's twine.
I actually kept one of these.

Metal Merry Little Christmas sign.
Another shop owner in town told Bob
she does not purchase signs anymore
because they dont sell.
Bob was mad I still kept purchasing signs.
I tease him every time one sells now...
which has been a lot. LOL
Now I hope I did not jinx myself.

The pillows on the right are reversible.
One side saying Naughty, the other Nice.

A small display on the table Bob created.
He took the frame of a school desk and added
a live edge wood top and made a drawer.
He is such a good woodworker.

                                  The full tree decked out.
This is a 5ft tree so it tells you
                                     how big the window is.

More thoughts and prayers.
I am sure many have heard
about the school shooting here in Michigan.
Oxford is a small town just an hour
Northeast of us.
My heart goes out to the parents of the
children murdered.
Plus the seriously injured.
My two grandchildren are both in high school.
I could not bear it if something like that
happened to them.
Such a senseless loss.

Yesterday I turned 63 yrs young.
My dear sweet FIL took me out for breakfast.
Bob and I then went out for dinner with a friend.
Tundra wished me Happy Birthday
with wet kisses all over my face.
(to be fair he does this every morning) LOL

Santa Claus is coming to town.
Tomorrow that is in our small town.
We have our Christmas Open House
at both stores.
I will be making some cookies for each,
and we will be having a storewide sale
at Back Porch Antiques.
(our vendors agreed to this)
Also with every purchase enter to win
a $50 gift certificate.

Same goes for Blue Water Gift Shop.
With any purchase enter to win a
$50 gift certificate.
We cannot do sales at the gift shop,
because when we opened this store
our philosophy was
why raise the price to sell something.
We price to sell already there.

Gotta Love Santa Blessings To All!
Janice

  3. Forgot to mention...
What an unspeakable tragedy at the high school. So many lives will be forever changed. Heartbreaking.

  4. Happy Belated Birthday Janice! Sounds like you had a very good day indeed. And your store looks like a bit of Christmas magic... Yes, you would have been a great designer. It is horrible what happened at that high school and my prayers are with all affected there. What's happening to our small towns??? Don't answer that...I have a pretty good idea unfortunately. Good luck this weekend! ~Robin~

  6. Your shop looks so amazing. I know that I would be in there way too much if I lived there! I love Santas and I used to collect them. I have given away many to my kids who picked out a few favorites. I'm now working on getting rid of more excess decor to Granddaughters who have their own homes. If you visited me you wouldn't know that I have downsized! Enjoy your small town Christmas day today. We have the Christmas parade and tons of activities all over Ashland today and tonight. December has been warmish but today back to winter temps...just in time to stand outside and freeze while watching the parade! Have a good weekend!

  9. Happy Birthday -- a day late but still, keep celebrating! Your shop is so darling. I love the little Santas. I wish you were closer to Lansing and I'd be your first open house customer.
