China Cabinet

Howdy all!

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend.

Gramma H had a china cabinet in her dining room.
Although I did not have enough room
for an actual china cabinet,

I wanted a spot for my pitchers and plates.
Note to Dicky Bird...I forgot I had this
flow blue pitcher.
Am not a fan of this china....but forgot
my gramma H liked it, so I had purchased
this pitcher awhile ago.

The clock is from the 1800's and does work.
Have to remember to start winding it up. LOL
The plate is a Parisian one...bode again to my gramma H.

Love that I have a place now for my egg baskets.

The cabinet holding our microwave
is now dedicated for our pets food.

Cat food on the bottom.
Tundra's food and treat on top.

They all know where the food is now. LOL

This weekend in our small town tragedy
hit twice.
A young couple overdosed in a store parking lot,
while an older couple and their dog
drove into the river and drowned.
The gentlemen had a medical emergency
and drove erratically down the street,
He drove right through the guardrail
at a high rate of speed.
So sad for all.

China Cabinet Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Sad indeed, and it seems even more tragic when it hits so close to home whether you were a blood relative or not.

  2. Oops, meant to also say I have that same wire chicken basket.

  3. I love seeing how you pull family history into your everyday...you inspired me (again.) I reworked the display on my Hoosier cupboard. While I had my grandmother's handwritten recipe cards, I added her glass canning funnel, a jar of honey from my uncle (I've had it for ages) and a teacup from my mother-in-law.

Sorry to hear such sad news...it always hits so hard.

  4. Very sad and so hard for those left behind.
I love flow blue but could never really afford it. Your kitchen has come together so nicely

  5. Such tragedy. Sadly, the young couple's death was because of their behavior. Maybe some other young person will think twice before doing drugs. The elderly couple did not have a choice. Heartbreaking for all the families involved.

    1. Yes you are so correct. It was their bad choice, and hopefully their friends will stop if they partook in the same.

  6. So sorry for the sadness in your community. Life is so fragile and also our decisions like the young couple can play a big factor. I hope you enjoyed your 4th with your family. Your cabinets look great! A wonderful way to display those treasures!

  10. Yes, that is a flow blue pitcher. You have great treasures in your china cabinet. Awww...that's terrible on both accounts. Funny how pet's know where the treats are. Our dogs will sit and then look up at the shelf, sit, look, sit, look....so funny.

    1. Yes and I have to admit, I still am not fond of the flow blue...just because it is so blurry to me. LOL with your dog wanting treats. Gotta love our pets.

  12. Your kitchen cabinets are looking great. Everything is moving into it’s home base and the results are useful for 2021 stuff and the primitives are now a part of the kitchen landscape. I love what is happening! I am sorry to hear about the tragedies that happened in your community as well.

  14. Love your new kitchen, Janice! Doesn't it feel great to have something new and built the way you want it? Gosh..that's terrible about both tragic, horrific events in your little town. So, so sad! Are you doing the Holly Show? I'm going to help Dawn with her booth, so I hope to see you!

  15. Thanks Bobbie. Not sure yet about the show. With us owning 2 stores now, its hard to get workers on the weekends. I usually work our gift shop.
