Howdy friends!
Today I feature my lidded crocks.
The above 3 gallon crown crock has this
number three stamped on its crock lid.
My cake crocks all with their own lids.
This bee sting crock with its wood lid.
Two more crocks with wood lids.
Another crown crock. This one a five gallon.
This lid is my favorite with its intricate design.
Do you have any lidded crocks?
..On another note, Mother Nature
decided April Snow showers to be in our area.
The tall tree on the left is our flowering pear,
which was just starting to bud.
Tree in the middle is our Redbud,
also just starting to bud,
with our Honeysuckle vine leaves
to the left. All full with snow.
Not sure if they will bloom now.

Yes I have a lidded crock. No number stamped on the lid but on the side is a blue crown with 6 stamped on the side. So guess it is a 6 gallon crock. It was my grandfather's and as an adult he and I would make wine from his concord grapes in it.

DeleteOh Janice, you DID get a lot of snow. We didn't get any, though the temp got into the 20s. I'm glad it missed us but still with the cold worrying about flowers and flowering trees. Fingers crossed.

DeleteI do have lidded crocks I keep potatoes and onions in each I have a crock for birdseed that my husband made a wooden lid and a crock that my husband made a wooden lid from a very old cutting board for my flower.

How cool you keep onions and potatoes in a crock. Mine are in a wood bucket. After our snow we had frost. Mother Nature is not being nice right now. Janice
DeleteI so hope the plants will be able to bloom. One year we "lost" all our spring blooms in a similar event. I love the lidded crocks, and it is much harder to find the lidded ones than the ones that have lost their lids! Is that what they mean by "flipping your lid" I wonder? I think the cake crocks are my favorites!

ReplyDeleteI hope the flowering trees will bloom just the same.
We had a torrent of rain in the evening and through the night. The grown needed it. I planted some seeds outdoors yesterday in my raised little beds as an experiment. I'm not too worried about it. If they grow, it would be fantastic. I've never planted seeds outdoors in April until now.

DeleteWe had a snowstorm as well...I ran out of sheets and blankets trying to cover up what I could! We'll keep our fingers crossed. I love crockery, so wonderful to see your collection. I wish mine had come with lids, but I suppose that's one of the easier things to break over the years. And a bee sting pattern...I love that! I have one with a pattern I can't identify...maybe I'll post a picture soon and you'll know what it's called!
